A toy every gokin lover should have. I want it, but forces of economics won't let me. The pictures are truly awesome.

Good price!
If it were half that, I'd consider getting it for myself, but that's a steal, considering what they usually go for.

This is about the price that the new SOC Dancouga ges for. This is supposed to e the ULTIMATE SOC. Each part of DanCougar (Bird, Lion, Panther, and Elephant) can transform into an animal, and also into a robot, and then be able to combine into DanCougar.

Is it truly labled as "Ultimate" ? I have to say that the engineering is just awesome! It is funny to think how complex, say, a car is. But when you think of it, all of the engineering there has been done in some form over 100 years. There have been many years to refine designs. Here with Dancougar they created a fresh product with only one other tiral. One could argue that the joints and much of the transformation is simply new. Does anyone know the weight of the darned thing when displayed? -Ed

Still hoping they'll do a second release to meet the demand, overguess it, and have Dancougas flooding ebay at overstock prices

Typically, the first run of a new SOC is smaller. It is part of the famous BanDai marketing. The will release a new toy in a smaller run, run a press release that the toy is "Sold-Out" and people that may have waited to buy it...run to a store/internet site/etc.. and buy it with the thought that they may not get one. This marketing plan in Japan has been very successful in moving new toys to the collectors market.
As for an over run of Dancougas on the market, I don't think that will happen. If you look at the other "higher priced" soc Grendizer...that bad fella has never gone down in price....just keeps going up. Grendizer sold better in the "world market" rather than in Japan and thus his production number are much smaller than say....Mazinger Z or Great Mazinger (Yet Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger seem to hold their value quite well).
The SOC Mazinger girls (Aphrodite, Venus, Minerva, and Dian) di not sell as well as expected.....and you can pick them up for like $30.00 or so these days. But you have to remember, these were much less expensive to begin with as they are GREAT for articulation...but have little to no gadgits and/or accessories (I think they average about 2800Y retail price).
My prediction is that the SOC Dancouga will be to the SOC line.......that the Voltes V and Combattler are to the GoDaiKin line.
