I'm new to these boards, but I've been watching GaoGaiGar for a while now. Well, as I can find it subbed. Anyway, I have been watching it and I noticed that it has so many cool robot transformation and combination sequences, great music, wonderful scenes... So how come there are no AMVs (Anime Music Videos) or decent wallpapers dedicated to GaoGaiGar? No desktop themes, no icons, etc. The most I've seen have been some great sig pics and avatars on this board.
So has anyone done anything like this or think anyone will? Here's what I'd like to see. An AMV that has all of the transformation and combination sequences together in a montage, maybe to the "Perfect Shout" version of Yuusha Oh Tanjou. Or an AMV featuring that song. Wallpaper of each of the robots, individually and as a group. Most of the wallpaper I've found (which has been limited to maybe one or two) has been of the female characters or a landscape. Everyone knows the most well known aspect of GaoGaiGar is the robots! ;D
I'd try to make something like this, but I don't have the tools or the talent really. But if anyone knows of a place where any exists, I'd appreciate the info. ^_^

Welcome to the board triggrexe! Your best bet would be our member Gold, he's like a walking encyclopedia on Gaogaigar and Brave stuff.

triggerexe, you are absolutely right: Gaogaigar simply begs for some AMV-love! I'm by no means skilled in the creation of these things, but I'm going to give it a shot regardless. I hope others will do the same (and inevitably blow my feeble efforts out of the water)

I agree. GGG and the gang have definitely been kept in a dark closet. At least they're finally getting some well-deserved recognition with the new toy releases.

Hehe, thanks for the confidence, Chen As much as I'd like to help, it seems that there really is a lack of GGG Media. As far as a good MTV of the GGG bots with the intro music go, the only thing I got is the AMV from the special features of the Final ep. 8 DVD that came with the Yujin Gold Gaofighgar giftset. I would gladly share it here if anyone can teach me how (or what sites can host "downloads", for that matter). Hehe, sorry I'm not really good at the techno stuff either.. Anyone? Thanks in advance. Well, I finished my first AMV. Download: (Right-click, save target as) [ 2:00, 30.8MB, XVID, MP3 ] It's based on Tim Hardin's "Hang on to a dream". Warning: If you haven't seen Gaogaigar: Final yet - particularly episodes 4&5 - thar be spoilers ahead, mateys. Arr. Also don't bother if you like totally action-packed AMVs with lots of beat in them. Also please don't link this around too much, as it's currently hosted on what little webspace my ISP provided, and I doubt I'm allowed much bandwidth. I might get an AMV.org account eventually, if I can be assed to create one and don't hate this thing already, in the morning.

Congratulations on creating the first GGG fan AMV! ^_^ At least as far as I know. Hehe. Thanks for sharing. That was pretty good. It feels like it should pick up at the end with an up beat rock song and show scenes from Genesic GGG after that. Otherwise it seems kinda like a downer ending. lol Maybe a sequel AMV is in order. Other than paying for web space, I'm not sure how you'd want to go about sharing that other video. There are a couple of different ways. You could try this website called Filefront.com, though its got lots of pop-ups on it. You could try using BitTorrent to share it directly from your PC, but you'd have to find a good Torrent tracker site that doesn't make you pay or anything. How big is it? I have a bit of space on a friend's server and may be able to help host it for you temporarily if it isn't too big. Just for robot-japan though.

Thank you. And, I thought about adding a scene at the end that conveyed some kind of promise of a happy ending - as this is Gaogaigar, after all! - but decided that it wouldn't fit with the song very well. I'll try to make my next project less depressing? Hehe.

Uh... Sphexish for some strange reason I can't seem to get the video running, just the audio? BTW, I was fooling around with ISobuster and was able to convert the Super Robot Wars Alpha 3 cinema into MPEG format(Extract PSS file with Isobuster and save as .mpg) but it seems all I got was the video, the audio is on another track.. uh.. anyone know what kind of files I should be looking for on the PS2 disc? Photobucket now hosts videos(max of only 3 minutes only though) and I really want to do the "all Yuusha combined final attack on the end boss with GGG leading the assault" cinema from the GGG ending scene of Yuusha Taisen(Braver wars) from PS2. It's hands down the coolest Super Robot Game cinema ever!! Gold

That's really odd, Gold; I don't know what else could be causing the problem.. What kind of player are you using? Anyway, I now uploaded the vid to youtube as well, and you should be able to watch it there, at least, since they convert it to flash somehow. Though the quality will suffer, unfortunately..

I've never seen anything from a Super Robot Wars game or this Braver Wars game so I have no idea what it looks like, but I wonder if there are any sprites available. Has anyone come across screenshots or sprite sheets from these games? I dunno what all you're trying to do and how complicated it is, but have you tried or heard of a program called VirtualDub? Its just another video editing and viewing program that I hear a lot of people use. Has anyone been able to to make any GGG wallpaper? I brought the issue up over at Animepaper.net but it wasn't received well. I dunno why.

Thanks, I tried that but it just accept the .M2V format I made either, I'll try virtualdubmod next, tried it last night and the input box did accept the format, hehe but I didn't finish the whole thing since it was already late. I'll post some downloadable clips of SRW games if I ever get it to work. In the meantime here's a wall paper fellow RJ member Buffy and I did a while back(Using Kotobukiya's diecast GGG, GFG and MAxfactory GGG) The other image is a bit off in the Marg hand area, hehe never got back to fixing that image.. maybe one of these days when I got some free time... Oh man... Those are awesome. Thanks for sharing them! I can see what you mean by the Marg hand, but I don't own the figure so I'm not quite sure how its supposed to look otherwise. lol Is the hand on the other side? Boy...I wish I had all those figures. *drool*
