What kind of price did Giant Robo originally retail at when it was released?
It was priced for about 50$-60$ in Europe... but i've heard of lesser prices in USA.

I'd love to see them release more robots of this size/quality
Me too ! I've sent en email to Yamato a few month ago to say i love their Giant Robo and would love to see more die cast robots made by them... no answer, but maybe every fan should do the same
The OVA is very good, but you cannot realise that at the beginning. The end is the best. You simply can't imagine this would end like that. ;D
There's also 3 spin-off OVAs, three 30-minute videos, all of them starring GinRei. The plots and situations of these episodes are more comedy-oriented and tongue-in-cheek than the original series. These videos are: - Barefoot GinRei Episode.1 Find the stolen Chinese Dress!! (1994) - Steel-Armed Ginrei Episode.23 Forbidden Fruit ~ War in Heaven!! (1995) - GinRei with Blue Eyes (1995)
The second one is more about robots. If you can get these OVA (and i know you can ;D) and are fans of Giant Robo, you'll have fun.
Concerning the Yamato Giant Robo, IT IS SOOOOOO COOL !! ;D
How about "Bishop" from the Aliens' movies??? And where is the mighty T-800 from Terminator??? The ugly ass robot from "Virus", and the one from "Red Planet" "Smoke" from "Mortal Combat" (there is another one which I can't recall)... And... all the funny robots from the movie "Robots"!!! Man, there are just too many to list! }D
Bishop is an androïd, the T-800 is already is the list , i'll search for pictures of the Virus robot and Red Planet robot, Smoke is a robot ? He looks like subzero , and i don't know if i will add the robots from cartoons, and animation movies... Thanks for the infos ;D
I never saw Gog and Magog, but that robot looks kool
I think it looks cool too ;D so i've searched for a dvd or something, and what i've found is only a torrent file : www.mininova.org/tor/387778 I'm downloading it, and hope to see soon the cool Gog in action ;D
I'm glad that most of you are happy with this thread ;D
I know i could have added the giant robots like mechagodzilla... but, to me it's another movie genre (which i also appreciate )
Thanks for your links kingboyd ;D
What is MST 3K ? A scifi TV show ? The picture above remind me a kind of Muppet's Show..
In Westworld, i would classified Yul Brynner as an androïd, like Data from startrek.
;D

For a comprehensive list: www.geocities.com/brizglace/movie.htm (sorry if this killed the fun - feel free to ignore it and keep going based on personal knowledge)
you know I always wanted a Vincent TOY.. I finally got one. after doing some research I had found they had magno style Blackhole figures... and now after snooping around.. I found out theres a remote Vincent toy. www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=14287
Looks more like an IA. If that can't move, can it be called a robot ?

Ah, I've never seen the movie so that explains why I missed this.
You should see it. It's not a great movie, but it's fun to see it. The kind of scifi movie that is better than a B movie, but not a blockbuster... like Tank Girl, or Wing Commander... ;D
Dunno who that ABC Warriors robot is. He doesn't look much like any of the real ABC Warriors. Probably a one-off design for a Dredd comic or something.
I don't really understand what you mean (sorry... i'm french.. ) but this robot is the one in the movie :
I'm a lot into classic robots. I know that's not really "robot japan" related, but i would be happy to see in this thread all the robots that can be seen in movies or TV shows (with name and picture if possible). ;D Robots, not androïds
