After GX-101x One Eight, I can't help but wonder: Will these be beautiful but mostly plastic "X" releases? I love the One Eight and would still try to pick up both of these, but I do wonder what "class" of SOC I'm looking at. I'm on the fence about this "X" business. Rhine X1 and Greenghost C3 probably have substantially more diecast than GX-101X. Greenghost looks like it reuses Mazinger parts like Garada, and Rhine X1 looks like it has a lot of parts in common with the Mazinger girls.

Votoms TV series is probably one of the best shows in the 80s, in terms of a gritty real robot show (IMHO, it rivals 0079 Gundam, better than Dougram, Dunbine, L-Gaim, Zeta Gundam...etc.). But the art didn't age well at all. It is a definite watch if you don't mind 'ugly' art and animation, even though the story is top notch. The few 80s OVA also very good (much better drawn), but watch them after TV series, or you'll spoil yourself the main plot. If you plan to watch the TV show, go in as blind as you can, makes the ending even more interesting (if you are not already spoiled on it). Sounds good to me. I'll watch the original series and go in blind. Thanks, mpchi!

I really would like an Orguss in my collection. This was the one I had as a kid circa 1984-85. I remember owning it on 3 separate occasions for some reason. Bought. Lost. Gifted. Lost. Given. Lost. lol I had that same Convertors toy. (Had some of their Dorvack molds as well.) Good little toy. I didn't know what Orguss was back then, but I knew it wasn't a Convertors original. :) That made it kinda mysterious. I had fun trying to imagine the kind of story it was from.

Thanks for the vid. Any idea how big this thing is? It has so much details on it. I'm guessing bigger than Arcadia's.
Supposedly it's about 60 cm (23.6 inches!) long. About 1/2000 scale. The Daedalus and Prometheus will each be around 24 cm long.
Gotta add, their color choice is on point. The way they greyed out the colors a bit, especially the white and blue, does wonders to give it a sense of scale. Like when you add a bit of medium grey to the paints when making small models of very large subjects, to imitate the visual effects of great distance. It's something they easily could have screwed up, but I think they knocked it outta the park.

Been waiting for this one forever... Thought it would appear someday as a DX Chogokin but this is awesome AF. Same.
I don't even see anything I'd want to change. It looks great.

Guys, This thing has swappable damaged parts, led gimmicks, led lit eyes, and scaled pilot… 23 cm tall, too. Very cool! I dig it.

It's not new for me to dislike this kind of redesign, but these look extra messy and random to me. Not my bag. Also, if they continue to poach super robots for Metal Build, I would like an SOC RX-78-2 in exchange. Now that . . . that sounds quite fair.
I bet it would be awesome. I bet you're right.

Listen to my song! As wonderfully ridiculous as M7 is, I'm not a big enough fan to get this. But it's tempting. I've no doubt it's going to be a fun and solid toy. Not sure about the lime gold color they used though. For some reason I was under the impression that greenish gold was tradition on VF-19 toys, but google says otherwise. Still, it works for me.

I dig that Grenghost C3. Probably my favorite of the reveals thus far.

It is the TV version though, not Aura Phantasm... Yup! I'm pretty sure it's the last mold they needed to finish all the TV series battlers. They've been teasing it for years now. Not sure I'll get it, I need a better look before I decide that, but the TV Gedo is one of my favorite battler designs.
That Gedo boxart they recreated is an old favorite as well.
