Good to know that coletron! Glad the younger generation are slowly getting into it. Would be great if the japanese production firms reboot a number of the super robot animes. That way, the brain washing will be complete heh heh

Well ... AmiAmi didn't declare it is lost yet ... usually it takes from week to 10 days to get the air mail delivered to me in Turkey. After two weeks I contacted AmiAmi told them that the package wasn't delivered yet and the tracking website doesn't show any updates after leaving japan! They told me to wait for 8 weeks before reporting anything. I told them that time is flying by and the gokin is getting harder to find .... after 4 weeks I contacted them then again after six ... finally when we hit the 8 weeks mark they told me NOW we can ask for an investigation but please give it another 4 weeks to get an answer! I asked them to help me get another one but they said they can't because it is sold out! sorry to hear about your experience. but if you pay using paypal, might want to try to raise a dispute?

Got my payment request from Amiami. Came out to ¥25,480 with ¥4100 of that just for shipping. Amiami always seems to be cheaper at the beginning. HLJ has more reasonable shipping costs plus excellent customer service but unfortunately I wasn't able to PO from them. Maybe I should just wait til release date from now on. Almost all of the usual retailers have this in stock. That is true, amiami does not come out cheaper all the time. One of the problem is they will not give you a shipping quote when you preorder something. So its hard to compare the total costs with other online stores. However, amiami's packaing is superb! The brown paper they stuff in their shippier box appears to be brand new and dont look like they are recycled. And they dont stinge on them, giving you excellent buffering. So i suppose that adds to the costs, but its quite worth it, especially for folks who love their toy boxes mint and undamaged.

I see it going up, maybe not as fast or as high as DX Mazinger but once stock dries up sooner or later it will go up. Especially if they make a DX Grendizer and continue the line you WILL get completeists who will want to whole set and sellers who are more than welcome to oblige at a healthy mark-up off course. OK, I better make plans to get one before supplies dry up. I noticed bbts.com lowered their price to $399. I wonder if that's the lowest around. $399 for the GM? I have forgotten how much it costs initially, but thought 399 is a decent price now. But have to check out the shipping costs too, this is one big and heavy fella.

I do know that in this hobby, never say never. If there is still good money to be made, i dont see why Bandai will not want to reissue it.
However, i also have to admit that this piece is not for everybody. Its huge and dont come cheap, even when it was sold at retail price, togather with the shipping charges, it cost an arm and a leg. The market for this might not be as big as say the SOC. So i would guess that a reissue will be rather slim although not impossible.

thanks for the headsup TJ!
damn....worse comes to worst, i am going to pass on this and treat it as money saved! secondary market and NY eventual retail price will be a killer.

love it! but still considering whether to get it. pretty expensive for a tiny figure. bought the FA-178 awhile back, nice but tiny. would have been better if they are cheaper.

I used to collect mcfarlane halo 6" action figures. articulation, paintwork, overall quality leaves much to desired. Especially the halo 5 series figuries which are utterly horrendous, more like toys for kids than collectors'. definitely not worth its price tag.

If that is what they are saying in Japan, then i am pretty sure this will end with our generation. I dont see how much interest super robots can garner outside Japan, especially among younger collectors. Times have change, this is the age of pokemon and manga figurines and perhaps transformers (thanks to the movie adaptation and countless cartoons) which the younger generations easily identify with. The younger demographics are no longer exposed to super robots. Its as simple as that. So collectors might want to consider selling their precious popy, godaikin and soc when they still have value

Does this mean that the GX-70VS isn't a rip off, a price grab, milking it, or whatever angry collectors call it? Of course not. But it's an exclusive. It's more economically viable for them to do the niche market gouging directly through their direct channels. This avoids unsold product at the retailers. Just to chime in. As a regular robot fan, i fully support this idea. I am more than happy with the "basic" set which comes with the standard jet scrander, base stand as extra hands. I really do not need the gx-70vs devil man addon (which is targeted towards the more hardcore mazinger fans) to be honest. I would be pretty unhappy paying more for the accessories which i dont need nor like if they bundle everything togather. Now, if you tell me the basic gx-70 does not come with the jet scrander, and i have to pay for a seperate jet scrander addon, that would be a ripoff.
