I ended up not getting this release. From reading everyones comments and watching reviews I guess I am glad I did not. It is a shame as I was really excited about the release I just did not have the $$ at the time of release. Yeah it's a shame at what happened to this figure. Though if someone sold me one for cheap I'd modify the joints and have it painted by a professional. Now that SOC gx04s looks very appealing and I've seen one being sold in my country for a very good price.

In my crazy mind I like Mazinkaiser beig teh tallest, and think Shin getter should be shorter, but that is just in my mind LOL> I actually prefer Mazinkaiser being the tallest or as tall as Shin Getter. If Bandai actually followed the height data of these super robots we'd be getting SRC getters bigger than SOC's and if that happened and they release the other getter robots then Mazinkaiser would look like a powerful midget beside them. I'd prefer them all having almost the same height for sanity's sake

I'm actually still working on the legs and I've decided to make a mold on some of the joint parts so it'll be faster to cast them instead of making them again from scratch for my next projects. The joints hold up real well and so I'll make use of it more thoroughly.

Accurate and a fair review. Nicely done josh. CMs really let lot of people down. Did they even acknowledge it? This is gonna be a disaster for CM, a product with this much qc issue is bound to drag a company's reputation especially with one that is highly anticipated. Any decent company will replace a faulty product or even have to stop production in the meantime to sort out the issues.

@ kaeruze & baron Lol I don't have mine yet, I just posted that pic from the review to show how big he is even compared to Shin Getter. It will be a while before the stores here get that item. God have mercy on the soul of the one who gets in my way of owning one and also the one who gets the last copy before I do!

I personally think that the SRC Grendy is better than the Metaltech Grendy even if people don't like the proportions. The paint, detailing and poseability on the SRC Grendy is really great and feels really high end for a budget chogokin. The engineering on the SRC is also on another level, this is the only Grendy which has an ingenious way to make the elbow bend without the fins getting in the way. The only advantage the MT Grendy has over the SRC Grendy is the spazer and the MT even cheats on the docking by using Grendy's upper half. I agree. Hands down. I have both and the Metaltech just always felt off to me. I love the powerful aesthetic of the SRC Grendizer Also if Grendy wasn't beefed up he would look like a weakling when he's beside SRC Shin Getter and SRC Mazinkaiser. I love the oldschool Grendy design but I also welcome this newer interpretaion and if a Shin Grendizer would ever come out I'm certain that they'll also modernize his looks and alter his proportions like what they did with Getter, Mazinger Z, Great Maz and Jeeg.

Finally I can complete my SRC Mazinger family!!!......that is without shin mazinger since I only have eyes for the original Mazinger Z design. Also he's huge!!!!!.......for an SRC that is

To be fair there's only one anime of gattaiger and it's kinda hard to get the right proportions to him since 70's anime's tend to have bad proportions when a character is shown in different perspectives. And I'll be honest in saying that I'm not really feeling the design of the character compared to Grendy. I'm actually shocked that and feel ashamed that I didn't know of him till now and I've watched a lot of robot anime since the early 80's. Though I'll have to give it to hlpro for making a figure of him.

That Yamato looks BEAUTIFUL!!! And HUGE, too! zozo-mag It's also very fragile with a lot of tiny parts that can easily break It's about 15 inches long and based on the 2199 anime which is a reboot of the old show but it was a really well done reboot.

Learning 3D software can have a bit of a curve. My personal favorite free 3D program is Sketchup, especially if you are new. The tutorials are excellent and it's fairly intuitive. Other options are Blender and 123D which are both fine, but not as easy as Sketchup in my opinion, and they don't have the ready made tutorials that Sketchup does. I honestly want to try this out ever since I've heard of it. I've successfully turned some plastic models into brass using the lost wax casting process. The ABS plastic also burns out right and since these can print this kind of plastic it would really help me out in a lot of projects. The only problem with these 3D printers for me is I am an extreme noob when it comes to software. It will be sometime before I buy a 3d printer since these are still new and I'm certain there will be better and cheaper printers that will come out. I'm not in a real hurry to buy one but it would be wise to learn the software and have it printed elsewhere in the meantime. I'm actually surprised that these printers are now being sold in my country and also offering printing services. I hope 3d printing goes mainstream cause it could lead to all sorts of innovations and creativity.

Proportions and looks are a matter of taste anyway, surprisingly there are some people who like the Revolting....errr Revoltech Grendy. Some like their girls fat or thin and some get off on ugly chicks.....

It sucks for me that they're releasing it here in December....then again maybe not since I still don't have the funds yet so by the time it comes out I'll have a higher chance at snagging one.

Thanks for the reply greengetter, actually I'm also bothered with too much pvc parts too. I prefer parts to be mostly die-cast and abs plastic since I tend to dislike the feel and smell of pvc. Looks like I'll be hunting for the chogokin version of mechagodzilla after I get paid for an upcoming job. If I do find a figure of this for the right price I might also get it.

Okay, I'm back. Both feet are diecast. The three doors and the panel supporting the three doors on his chest are diecast. THAT's it. Despite all the conjectures and descrptions shoulders are NOT diecast. Trust my lips, they are NOT diecast. Figure looks great with TONS of articulation...BUT I think I'm going to pack this thing and send it back. Half the figure is made of soft and smelly PVC...It's giving me a headach with its pure poison fume. All the black hose parts and some of the tail section are PVC. That more then half. I bought it for 80 plus tax from Amazon. If you find it at Amazon Warehouse in a week or two, it's prob mine. Is it that bad that you had to sell it? I actually wanted the old school Mechagodzilla since I missed out on buying the chogokin one a long time ago. I love Godzilla but I'm ashamed to say that I only have 2 figures of him and I want to make it up by having these s.h. monster arts as my collection. Edit: Dang, it seems they haven't released that Mechagodzilla yet.

I managed to make the lower legs, it was a pain trying to hammer this into shape. I'm gonna make the feet after I make the leg joints. I'm a little worried though that the legs don't seem to have enough weight so I'm probably gonna add some lead inserts inside it so it would add more balance when the figure is done. Having the top too heavy will always result in an imbalance when the figure is in a standing position.

I think the most expensive toy robot is Kuratas. At 1 million dollars he may not be made of platinum but you can pilot him and he's for sale
