I'm actually a fan of steampunk designs. I might do a steampunk themed Mazinger Z or another super robot in the future but it's probably after I finish a couple of other robots I've been dying to make. The organic look is a good idea and I'll be keeping that in mind after I've completed this figure. Big-O has also been running in my mind since I'm losing hope that Bandai is gonna release the SRC version.

The Revoltech version is clearly the worst version I've ever seen. My brother has one and the face and the paint details on his are so bad that it made me loose interest in collecting any revoltech super robots. I think one of the reasons why SRC Grendizer was given the buff treatment so he wouldn't look so scrawny besides Mazinkaiser and Shin Getter. I'm actually more bothered with Great Mazingers tiny head.

Maybe it's because of my ex that I'm used to seeing thunder thighs that it doesn't bother me so much

magengarLol......I was also actually thinking of converting the head into a pendant. When I actually bought a gx01r I absolutely lost all interest in finishing it since what's the point in making a Mazinger when I already got one. This also has the same size as the SOC and would have probably had posing issues. I've finally managed to connect the head and the arms to the body. I'm very pleased with how nice and tight the joint feels. I have designed the joints to resist loosening and the arms and head can be removed without any tools whatsoever thanks to the ball bearing connectors. You can see on the left arm the exposed inner parts.

whoa nice work bro, can i see the gattling mouth? i want to make gattling gun as well This is actually an old project when I was into gunpla, this gun got destroyed some time ago when my model kit fell on the floor. My ez8 survived but my gatling gun went all to pieces. This is the only remaining picture of it with the front exposed.

I would love to see ALL the robots from Godannar in SRC or SOC format. Specially Blaide Gainer. That is one robot that deserves a decent toy. Still, I would love to have them all! I just love how everyone assumed Max died all the time in the series but he never did. Hilarious! Yep and all the female robots in the Godannar line should have "jiggly" effect parts....if you know what i mean

If it looks good with plating then I might not even need to paint it. Eiher way it would still look good painted, if I’m painting it I’m gonna use the type if enamel we use in jewelry that requires baking but hardens really well and gives nice glassy finish.

But it's looking really sweet!! Thanks, I still have lot of other parts to make and I have to redesign the leg joints since I've found a flaw with my current design while making the arms. I also wanna hear more clicking while moving the joints I'm thinking of plating this whole figure in silver or gold or do a two tone plating with some parts colored gold and some parts silver. Plating adds some protection to the brass and copper suface since they like to tarnish a lot and I would hate to have to always polish it. I'm gonna do this project properly since the joints for this figure will be the basis for the other robots I'm planning to make. If it takes a while to finish then so be it as long as it comes out great. I've made some mistakes in the past that made me abandon some projects like this mazinger z that I lost interest in finishing.

It's a master grade ez8, it's in 1/100 scale Ah! I totally missed that in your abbreviated thread title. Thanks for the clarification. No problem my friend

The problem with the SRC line is that here have been a whole bunch of cool SRC figures shown that never saw the light of day. }| Too true.....it sometimes makes me wanna cry or get tickets to fly to Japan and go to Bandai headquarters to beat the hell outta the guys which decide which figures should be made. I've been waiting for SRC versions of Big-0, Godannar, Fat Tetsujin 28, Astroboy, Gekiganger 3 and even the Mazinger girls.

An SRC Godannar would be awesome! But I would like to see the GaoFighGar first!!! }D I think an SRC GaoFighGar is already in the works. I like him too but I really want, crave, need........ an SRC Godannar that's as big as Shin Getter.

@ ChenI don't know if those are TWE only, and those are hard to find here. I can't even find the weapons pack 1 for Mazinger Z anymore. Also buying an additional weapon set would ruin my budget. I just find it weird to not include the axe in the first place and a part of me wants to make SRC weapons out of metal

I made this gun from different sorts of scrap materials. I wanted a gatling gun for my Ez8 since the Gouf Custom had one. I had to change the front grip in the end since it looks kinda awkward.

The arms are almost done, I think I'm gonna do the hands after I'm done with the legs. Making the arms almost had me stumped cause it was really hard to get the articulation right.

I got no issues with GGGG not being a combiner, I remember the Max Gokin GGGG wasn't also a combiner and it was expensive. I actually like this src but right now I've got my sights set on the 2 robots and probably buy this after them.

Yeah, one of my absolute favorite figures. The Aoshima one is a brick and does not have a lot of play-ability. Awesome looking figure. The SRC looks amazing and is fun to pose. Love it!!! The only gripe I have with this figure is lack of effect parts and the getter tomahawk! I'm actually planning to make a getter tomahawk out of silver so the blades will come out nice and shiny but I'm afraid it might turn out heavy and make the arm joints loose. I was thinking of making the shaft from plastic to reduce the weight since the size of the axe blade is quite big.

Can't we all just agree that Go Nagai makes really cool robots that we all love? A bit off topic but does Bandai have any plans of releasing an SRC Godannar? I think he's perfect for the SRC line.....and also I can't afford the Max Gohkin version
