Well that makes me curious on what they plan to do with the new soc mazinger. Still we need a prototype picture to verify how they're gonna do the sculpt. According to the article, they are going to do the sculpt based on the "Mazinger Z vs. the Great Dark General" film, and not based on the TV series. See image below. From Mazinger Z vs. the Great Dark General filmOh well at least it's a different sculpt but I'd rather have Bandai do another mazinger like shin mazinger zero or another robot that the soc line haven't done yet. I won't say I won't check out this new version since I still love Mazinger Z and if they manage to make this a definitive soc version of mazinger then it's not gonna be too bad to add to the collection. I honestly think that Bandai has been overdoing it's release Mazinger Z figures as if Go Nagai has a rocket punch aimed at Bandai or something.

I"m betting it will just look like the upsized version of the src mazinger which was also the design basis for the dx mazinger. They won't go for the original design of the old Mazinger as it looks too dated for the younger generation of collectors and it's really impossible to get that accurate look without sacrificing poseablility. Having it look like the src and dx version is what Bandai will go for in order to have some consistency with the modern design of mazinger z. thats what bandai doesn't want to do this time according to the article. Well that makes me curious on what they plan to do with the new soc mazinger. Still we need a prototype picture to verify how they're gonna do the sculpt.

I'm gonna wait a bit, if soc voltron sells a lot then it's normal for Bandai to make more. Not gonna pay for more than what the retail price is. But I do think this soc if there are no problems will be just as big as voltes v considering many people know who voltron is.

The face does look kinda flawed but it might be changed or look differently when seen in person. I still think the engineering on this soc will be great. Bandai knows Voltron still has a huge market on the west so I'm certain they will not mess this figure up as it as it will affect the name of the soc brand. We all know that it is impossible to do anime accurate transformation and proportions so it doesn't bother me to see the lion legs exposed.

For me the soc golion looks best proportion wise. The KOB is still a good gokin but I still prefer the original design of voltron. It's been a while since I was excited for a new soc and I'm already thinking of ways to save money for this since I've already secured the funds for the childbirth of my baby in a few months. The pre orders here are already closed but I'm sure there will be a next batch and I can wait for that.

I really like it, I'll just wait for a sale cause the price really bothers me and my budget is super limited.

Wish they'd made these patlabors into src's. But I'll still check them out when they release these ingrams. Also a helldiver labor would have been good to add to the lineup.

not a cap guy but it will look good next to the 40th anniversary I was tempted to buy this yesterday but it would be hard to wear it since it's red and quite showy and might attract the attention of some no good people who might decide they want my cap and snatch it away which I've seen happen too many times. No point buying a cap if I can't wear it plus it costs as much as an src figure which i'd probably prefer much more than a cap. Anyway it's still a cool cap and I might buy it if I have some extra left after the src jeeg.

Also started on the panzer. How I'm gonna connect the panzer and the frigate is gonna be a real pain to design and I"m thinking of just simplifying this by just having the cockpits removed and replaced with connectors for a more solid combination.

I agree, this soc is one of the best ever made. He's big, heavy and feels really solid when combined. Also combining him is really simple without the fear of scratching the paint on some of the metal parts.

I've got some work this week but I did manage to do some bit of work on the frigate. I decided to just model the separate ships in the meantime and worry about how they will combine later.

what 3d program are you using? it looks spot on! I'm still usng Tinkercad but I managed to learn new tricks to make it look smoother. Having a hard time designing some joints as the weight of the whole figure can affect the durability of some parts. If it gets too much to handle I'll probably be printing the non combining version first since the basic model is already completed.

wow.....behold the mighty Voltes V! looking forward for this GW! Thanks, I'm now encountering some design issues I need to solve with the volt lander. I need to design a swivel joint that can carry the weight of the whole jumbo or else I might have to resort to using metals.

Looks pretty good. Good luck. Thanks, this needs a lot of planning so I won't be wasting filament. Now working on the volt crewzer and figuring out how the head will attach to the body securely.

I'm also working on this voltes since I want my own voltes jumbo without robbing a bank. This will be able to separate and combine, but I hope I can do the combination joints properly as it will be heavy and I wouldn't want it to fall into pieces when I lift it.

Wish Bandai released the Cutie honey angel. Anyway if it's a robot it's not considered a doll lol. I did collect a bit of hot toys figures and I once bought a the black widow figure and I found the hair was a bit dishevelled so I tried combing it, unfortunately my daughter came inside my room and caught me in the act of grooming that figure....let's just say it was a level of awkward no man should ever experience from their own child.
