There's also the variant of the rocket pack that he demands from sideswipe in one of the episodes and uses it to chase Megatron in the sky. I am pretty sure it is slightly different from the ones on the wall in your screenshots. I think that one was colored red but the one Prime wore going to dinobot island was this color. Also done painting the pack.

What a disappointment. Mine's on the way along with Riobot's Sahelanthropus. Unfortunately, I order from AmiAmi and returns –if allowed– would be too expensive. This goes to show you you shouldn't take quality for granted. Even a company as accomplished as Bandai will now and then have missteps. Which one is the bigger one next to the SRC? That's the one to get, apparently. honestly i never had any QCs with any figure that came from Bandai, just because they used this ugly looking joints doesn't mean the overall score should be bad mine is on the way too, i will wait till i get it in hand to give a proper feedback I just hate the coloring of the joints. For me the headsculpt is perfect but the joints just made it look cheap. I'm sure the joints are gonna hold up well but the visual appeal is lacking considering his price tag as an src.

Kinda disappointed with the way the joints look. If this is the final product then I'll stick to my arcadia reissue jeeg. I wasn't too fond of that one either. i sold mine. ah well. Different strokes for different follks lol.

I wonder if the eyes really have that docking feature where it turns yellow? Also I pray the head isn't pvc as I don't like soft feel. That hangar is just too cool! It will probably cost a lot if they decide to make one to sell.

now you are cheating bro i said that many times not just for an SOC version but for the DX Mazinger as well imagine the DX with damage broken parts specially on the face that would be awesome add a damage Hover/Jet Pilder and you got the accessories of the year, but somehow Bandai isnt feeling it they can make all plastic i wont care, just like Fewture did with Getter one Damage parts Yeah it's a missed opportunity as they haven't done that kind of thing with their figures. It would add lots of coolness to be able to swap with battle damaged armor.

You know it would have been great if they can replace some armor to make it look like his battle damaged version like in the movie since his crotch armor is removable. I think they'd sell a lot more with this kind of gimmick.

Get used to the price, the newer src releases have been hitting at 80-100 dollars so it was certain that this mazinger would cost more. It's still not as bad compared to the pricing of sentinel and evolution toy considering the amount of die cast along with good Bandai engineering of this figure.

this is the most anime mazinger z ever made! we know there are many mazingers figures already, but this one is the only one that really looks like the cartoon mazinger. the others may be nice but are just similar to the show, and never really gave mazinger z actual design justice. that is why i will sell them minus the gx-07 and gx-45 because they are actually different mazingers. That begs me to think why on earth did Bandai not release this on their 40th anniversary release?!?😭😉😂 Probably to fund this mazinger lol. I'm sure the prototype was around when they released the 40th anniversary version. I'm glad I didn't buy it as I arleady have a gx-01r but my brother is kicking himself in the nuts for buying one then finding out this gets released lol.

Wow tons of die cast in this figure! I do wish the upper arms were die cast too as it's it has always been die cast in all soc mazingers. I still can't believe Bandai has managed to pull me back again into buying another Mazinger!

I'm in! I like it! I love the headsculpt and I expected it him to be a bit more slim since they followed the line art. Defintely a better looking soc Mazinger in my opinion. Also we haven't seen the figures full range of articualtion at the legs since there's a possibility that the legs could get pulled down to allow more bend. If they really followed the drawing and tried to hide the articulation points then it will sacrifice a bit of articulation. If you expose the joints more it will affect the look of this compared to the drawings so there will be a trade off.

two more days for the reveal its going to be a huge fist fight You meant "rocket fist" fight! I'm actually looking forward to what it will look like as if this soc will look like an anime mazinger then it will actually be worth getting.

Whoah my brother is gonna be so worried when he gets his. I just hope this is just an isolated incident but I do remember some sentinel figures like the dino getters have some parts that are fragile. I'm wondering if that part is plastic or metal.

That comparison with KoB really show how skinny the waist is on the KoB, not to mention being too elongated too. As much as I don't like the Toynami Masterpiece engineering build (floppy and all), it does have a good proportion when it comes to the waist area. Yaeh, looking at them all more or less side by side vas an anime still I can't believe anyone is complaining. The Bandai is worlds better than either the Toynami and the KoB in terms of proportions. I gave up on anime proportions on some combiners and some robots that don't even combine. Notice how the lions become more streamlined with some parts like the head of the blue and yellow lion getting also bigger when combined. If they follow those proportons when the lions are separated it would look odd. People only see the combined form but forget that the individual lions have their own proportions when they get separated. Also I don't find the face too bad looking at the picture with another angle.

See, i get that. As long as it looks good, i dont mind either way... But i understand the other side too. We had many Gokin voltrons.. Including Bandais own who started it all! What few bros are saying IS, they waited all this time to fix all the things Bandai couldnt resolve decades ago.... based on the photos, Bandai seemingly chose to just revist it...albeit its a vast improvement over the original. Bandai is one of the best when it comes to toy engineering, if not the best. So Don't count out on the cover or replaceable parts till you have it in your hand. I doubt anyone would complain if Bandai is able to hide the legs. Funny thing is even if Bandai is able to pull it off some people will complain that it's not a perfect transformation if you need to remove or attach covers. Lets just say it's hard to satisfy everyone.

Obviously if Bandai wanted to they could have made this Voltron anime accurate with a ton of optional parts like they have before, I think it's pretty clear from the press releases and promo material that this SOC was designed with the intention of re-creating the old Godaikin toy with all it's flaws for a new generation who never experienced the original and the older generation who had the original figure. I have mixed feelings, I would love a anime accurate Voltron but at the same time the original left a HUGE impact on me (like G1 Optimus and the 1/55 VF's) that I would love to re-capture that feeling again. At this stage in my life of collecting, I'm no longer looking for little anime accurate trophies I can keep on my shelf, but instead I'm looking for that feeling of being a kid and experiencing the wonder and joy of a brand new toy. I guess I've changed from being a Japanese anime accurate "trophy" collector to just being a TOY collector like I was when I was 12, and I'm fine with that. I agree, I only started collection robot figures again because I missed my old gokins I lost as a child. As long as this Voltron is heavy, durable and fun to combine then it's good enough for me. The lion legs exposed in his combined form doesn't even bother me as I'm used to it as I also had the Go Lion toy as a kid. People complain about it yet even the other toy manufacturers also released voltrons with exposed lion legs. I guess it can't be helped too because the Soc line has a high reputation for for engineering. As a toy designer myself I do have an idea why it's not so easy to cover up those legs or have them removed. Since the lions are made up of metal having the legs removable might loosen up the pegs and also the possibility of having some of the legs lost. If you cover up the legs then it would result in added bulk to some of the areas which may affect the look of voltron.

I think we can all agree that the released pictures of voltron is the final product considering it will be a few months before it is released. Some companies do add a disclaimer about a figure not being the final product but there isn't one on the latest pictures of voltron or as far as i know. I do feel that some of the criticisms are valid but there's nothing else we can do as it is Bandai who has the final say in what they will release, but it is also the consumers right to reject or accept this rendition of voltron. Take it or leave it is all we can do at this point. Go Lion was one of my favorite toys as a child and I probably will buy this once I verify that the figure has little to no flaws in the combination. I doubt any company can please every consumer out there as people have so many different demands that it's impossible to do everything perfectly.

I dont think it is a repaint. We all will know in around two weeks. And like wild dogs, we will definitely tear it apart. Limb to limb head to toes. Lol Just lets not turn on eachother then. I can safely predict what your complaint is lol " there's too much pvc!". Mine would be "the rocket punch gimmick didn't knock out my brother!"
