The only thing I used was novus number 2 polish. When that didn't work I tried sanding but maybe I was too rough

I've tried wiping with water but it returns when it dries. I can scrap some off with my fingernail. I guess I'll try 1500 grit and see

Very cool. I want to try it! Was the measuring really that much of a pain? I've never done something like that before.

Him thanks for the responses. I tried the peanut butter but it didn't really do much. I'm not sure if I did it right lol but as for the residue,it happened both after a light sanding and even using the the number two novus polish? It doesn't just rub off with a damp cloth although I haven't tried distiller water. Is there a difference with the type of water? Thanks for the help

Hi, Newbie here. I was trying to sand out scratched on a maziger leg and ended up with this I started with 600 wet sand and moved up to 1500 but still have this white residue. Has anyone ever experienced this or have a solution / alternative to this? Any help would be appreciated.

Soon is always subjective I am in the mix with a placed order to have a variety of sticker sets on-hand, this has just happened over the last week. And then as one set is sold, I can see about replacing it. I don't have a timeline for when I will have then in hand at the moment. Thanks. Thanks, please let me know...

I tried to use the warm water and light wash then the magic eraser but the white is still coming back. Any suggestions? Soooo frustrating! You need to post some clear pictures. I would try to let it soak in lukewarm to warm (not hot enough to alter the shape of the PE), soapy water and then rinse again, then try again with novus #2. If it's a hazy white that clouds or keeps reappearing, especially where you used the acetone, then I am probably correct in my original thinking that it would be acetone damage. You may have to paint this one or continue to sand with fine/ultra fine grit paper, or buff and polish more. The haze may not go away. So, I tried on the other leg without acetone and still get the white haze. I have used wet sand paper then novis. I am sure that I am missing a step here and keep getting this haze. Thanks again for all the input

Depends on how deep the scratches are. Usually you start with low grit and then work up to high grit (fine) but you should ask Tom or some of the other guys that have sanded them in the past. I have not sanded polyethylene before. For the marker, try wiping thoroughly with a cloth soaked with rubbing alcohol (wear thin gloves so your skin does not get dried out). I tried to use the warm water and light wash then the magic eraser but the white is still coming back. Any suggestions? Soooo frustrating!

Hi,
I was wondering if its possible to dye a jumbo torso. I have a gaiking torso that I can't get all the grime out of (I have tried everything I found on this forum). So I was wondering if dye would work. Would the heat of the water damage it?

Also, what number Novus did you use, 1,2, or 3? Three is more abrasive than (but not much) the other ones, usually I use #2 for regular polishing. Thank you so much for your advice. I noticed that I need to do this several times but it works. How do you get rid of the deeper scratches? Wet sandpaper? 220 to 2000? Also, I noticed that I have some deeply embedded marker stains that the magic eraser is not getting out. Any suggestions?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has had this happen...I was cleaning my Jumbo Gaiking...I removed the stickers with hot water and liquid detergent and cleaned it. I used a little acetone on a rag to white the excess off. Then I tried to polish it with Novis but later found a white film form on the top. Has anyone had to deal with this? Also, there seems to be dark streaks embedded into the plastic that standard cleaning isn't removing.
Any help would be appreciated.

If it was just worn and needed repainting not a repair I probably would have just cleaned it well and painted over it.Old paint is a base coat primer in the color you need, offers adhesion ,and a map of what goes where. The head has some good scratches that I'm buffing out. so I'm down to the base blue. I'm guessing some krylon fusion as a base?

Hi,
I was planning on repainting a badly worn Mazinger head. So, I stripped the head down and am ready to paint. Should I prime it first or would testor acryl paints hold without it?
Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

I am working on being a middleman for possible sticker requests, but may be a bit of time when that happens. If / when it does, I will post details on it. Wow, thanks! I can wait till then.
