Hi,
I'm new to collecting and was wondering what are some of the more reliable sites to order from. I wanted to get the Kronos from Daca for my son and saw it on TF Source and was wondering if that was a good site.
Thanks!

Are there good starter sets with a decent compressor? I think it is always best to buy a separate compressor because the quality seems like one offered in a package would be sub-par at best. There are some great micro scale compressors (not the exact name but they fit on a desktop and don't take up space) that I think would be good. Also, there is an airbrush brand that has a lifetime warranty, I will try to remember the name. thanks i appreciate it!

Hobby Lobby carries some cheap to higher end airbrushes. I like to use their 40% coupon, and could see how the prices pan out compared to buying online or somewhere else. I got an older Testors (now Aztek) double action air brush when I did more model building about 15 years ago. Are there good starter sets with a decent compressor?

from my experience. i had badger, quite expensive since its made in USA and im from indonesia. it was really good, but the down side in my country the spare part has depleted. so if the things goes broken i must buy overseas, and not all Asian region compressor not quite fit in badger, you have to cut the pipe and snap it force in the pen. so my advice: look for brand that has spare part in your country and service center. buy as a set with compressor price dont lies, you get what you pay. its the man behind the gun after all ;D Thank you! I will look into that brand.

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good starter airbrush set. I was thinking of airbrushing an old beat up jumbo. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
I was hoping somebody could recommend a good first airbrush set. Nothing too expensive so that I won't feel so bad if it doesn't work out lol. I've seen sets on eBay and amazon but I'm not sure what's a good brand or not. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm a newbie with collecting robots and am on the fence as to which version of Gaiking to purchase. I've read most of the posts on it but still am on the fence: which is better to fit into a SOC collection. I see the merits of both but really can't afford the GX-27( which seems to have some leg issues). Any experiential information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I'm in the process of repainting an old beat up Jumbo Great Mazinger. I am not schooled in the cartoon as many of you are. So, I was wondering what the proper color scheme for the character is. I plan to use semi-gloss metallic paints. Any help would really be appreciated.b

Personally I'd rather just wait and hope they reissue GX-50 instead of buying GX-03 now and then kicking myself in the head when they do and I could get the better version at a lower price. Granted, if you live in the US, you'd probably have a lot less trouble finding a potential buyer to dump the GX-03 on than I do. Yeah, I cannot find a 50 at any reasonable price. On a side note is there any real difference between the gx-04 and 04s? Just curious

You're gonna have to wait until Thursday or Friday to look again, as it is currently Golden Week over in Japan right now and shops there are usually closed or at least half-open on their websites for it. Ya is 3000yen (New) at mandrake which i cannot resist it also at that time i was planning to buy GX-50 but after i received the GX-03 i was like OMG this figure should worth at least USD100 and then i no longer plan to purchased the GX-50 as the GX-03 is good enough. below picture is showing the GX-03 with other chogokin figure. Very Cool. That's the gx-03B correct?

for the head, yep, that's the Rustoleum brand paint... I hand-painted the head with a brush in two thin layers for each color. zozo-mag I had a quick question. Once I prime the body what grit sandpaper should I use before painting ?

Thank you. I do have a lot to learn It's all good. Just so you know, SOCs are an import money-pit, so be prepared for the nostalgia expenses and stuff. Also, GX-03 (even GX-50) is old toy tech so even tho the old SOCs like it are big, mostly metal and heavy, the various available articulations and stuff from it can be frustrating when trying to pose in certain ways. Just try to be smart with your money. Most of us here hunts for deals for months and even years for SOCs we missed out on. I don't have it, but I think the newly-released (in japan) GX-65 is the best big oldie SOC in terms of articulation and stuff, but it's about US$200 plus shipping and I'm not sure you're even familiar with the goofy anime it came from to get any nostalgia-value from it. As such, here's a pic of my various SOCs and other toys from last year regarding the GX-03 sizing: I love them! I have two super robot chogokins: Grendaizer and Great Mazinger and love them. I wish they made a combattler in that line. Its much more affordable. LOL

For the GX-03? I think Anime-Export from time to time will list a GX-03 at 9000y or even less at times. Not sealed, of course. Jungle used to list a bunch of used GX-03, but not lately as much. Not sure about Mandarake and the others anymore. Oh, and I found Charles' old exasperated gx-50 review: Thanks I liked the review. i also checked out the sites. nothing today

I think GX-03 is still worth it. Especially if you can get him under $80 shipped in New/Sealed or even A-status. Always wondered why the GX-50 is (still) too damn expensive when the "improvements" were really quite minor. I think at least Charles/OptimusPrimeSG had an old video-review of the GX-50 vs GX-03 somewhere in his yt-channel. But if you can score a GX-50 for $100 (or under) in at least A/A condition, that would be kewl. As such, GX-03 is still as good, imho. And also, the GX-03 comes in a nice black edition, too: Where can you find them at those prices?

I ended up buying the cutters from a guy here to complete my GX-50.I wonder if the didnt include those with the GX-50 just to make teh GX-03 still buyable after GX-50 release,or for crazy people liek me that had to have the cutters.Actually you can get a GX-03 just about every other week on Anime Export for 69$ they pop up alot there. Thanks so much for that. I'll check it out.

Thanks everyone. It helps to get some perspective. I love the character and I think in terms of expanding my collection then the 03 should do the trick.

Hi,
I'm new to collecting the Soul of Chogokin line and was interested in getting some advice on a possible purchase. I love Combattler V but the current prices of the the revised one is crazy. So, is it worth getting the original GX-03 or save up for the the GX-50? In terms of dollars and sense the 03 would allow me to purchase more but what about quality? Any advice would be appreciated.

That's exactly how I applied the Plasti-Dip, from the spray can. I don't have any saved pics of my Great Mazinger jumbo when I was working on it, back when Multiply.com had a photoalbum hosting site I had all my pics there and later on Multiply shut down and all my pics got deleted (they never even notified me before shutting down). Here's an old pic showing my jumbo Great Mazinger head after painting it, circa 2008... zozo-mag Looks great. That's rustoleum aluminum paint?
