Getting an all plastic version would be a refreshing change of pace as the original Yamato's were a pain in the behind due to chipping, rubbing from the zinc. Stability still is a problem for me with the VF-19 I have (top heavy in certain areas in all modes).

I think the paint chip issue was one of the main reasons why Yamato went with all plastic parts for the 1/48's, and just kept the diecast to a minimum.
Diecast + Paint + complicated transforming toy = paint chips

Buying 1/48's is good. The way I see it, Yamato is not actually going for 'same scale' toys, rather they're going for same "size" toys. Personally, I'd like them to do the Macross Valks in the same scale (all in 1/48), but it's not practical, both SPACE and MONEY wise. size by size..... we could say the yamato 1/48 are the same size of the yamato 1/60 Macross zero.... what other yamato stuff could be compared size by size with this Valks?

Yeah but you gotta admit the original 1/72 YF-19 is monumental It was the 1st macross plus toy Valk ever created by anyone remember the anticipation, excitement and hype?
Those 3 macross plus Valks are what made Yamato what it is right now in our eyes

LZ,
The VF-1x by far is the smallest among the Valkyries in the Macross continuum. Here's a list of the size comparisons, based on the Macross Compendium:
VF-1x = 14.23m VF-0x = 18.69 m VF-11x = 16.02 m VF-17x = 16.13m YF-19 = 18.62 m YF-21/VF-22 = 19.62m VF-19A = 18.62m VF-19F/S = 18.47
If Yamato's releases will b Valkyries other than the VF-1, then they are most likely to follow the 1/60 scale to match sizes with the 1/48. ;D

True true. I remember those days. I was still a regular at MW then, before the decent conversations and discussions turned to whining, b!tching, and moaning. I still have my original Yamato 3. Love 'em even if there are bigger and better versions coming.

Thanks Omni.... and another question... Are there any Enemy for sale? size by size with my 1/48? You're welcome. If you're referring to enemy mecha, YES! Yamato has already released the Queadluun Rau in 1/60 Scale (DYRL version) to match the 1/60 VF-1. The Milia 639 (red) version was the first to be released, then the Max Jenius version (light blue). There were reports of a cannon fodder version (purple), but I think the QR didn't meet sales expectations by Yamato, and was put in the reefer. Hopefully, Yamato considers, and releases the QR cannon fodder, and other enemy mechs for the 1/60 line, like the Nosjeadul Ger, Regults, etc. That would be fun! www.collectiondx.com/node/231

You know when it comes too Macross I wish they would just use the 1/48 scale so we can have a sense of scale and size. I know if they did the YF-19 and VF-0S they would be quite big but I would love to see the size differences between the ships. I guess if I do get these I'm gonna have to get a 1/60 Valk too.

Umm... hmm... at first glance I thought maybe the perspective was screwing with the wing-size and shape, but I'm starting to agree with Otaru Ikari... they strange-looking. As for size, I'm glad their sticking with 1/60 - which will compare with their older stuff. So now we've got several toys based around that scale besides the original VF-1 series. Nice.
Makes me want to go hunt down a few more 1/60 just for the hell of it (the only 1/60 stuff I have is a Milia QR (and CMS Milia figures) and a Max Super VF-1J).

Likewise, but as I've mentioned on alot of similar threads, a 1/48 scale Mac Plus Valkyrie would be impractical, space and money wise. BTW, I hope Yamato puts more detail on that thing, panel lines and all that sh!te... I hate to have my fighters looking too flat.
