lord zarak: here's an example of a water slide decal. it's thinner than sticker. the film is thin enough that the design on the model's surface still show. as if the cross insignia on the model is painted.

never use any of them.. takatoys are not available anymore for a long time.. while anasazi is always out of stock.. i think they both have good qualities.. but for me the price is the main issue.. is it worth for $10+ for a sticker.. but hey i could be wrong again for i never had a chance to try em.. it's quite hard to find nowadays.. i also want to try one..

Anasazi's decals/stickers are $15 a pop.
Anasazi's stock is always out because he doesn't do that many. If you want one, you need to contact him directly from MW, and order. If you're in the U.S. shipping is not an issue, but if your somewhere else, your shipping cost will be more than the decal.
If you're outside the US, it would be best to buy a lotor do a group buy.

I think for stickers, shipping fees would not be very high... When i ordered (i live in Italy) from Reprolabels a pay only 1 USD for shipping fees... THIS is correct...

Panel, and weathering first. Then Decals.

What to buy (and where...) for weathering? I read ''Rotring .05 Felt Tip pen (pigmented ink)''.... what is it? Any pic?
I want to make the panel line... i will buy a brush 00... but i'm not sure about the color... dark grey or black? Omni, what color have you used? it seems black... Manny Tamiya german gray...

lord zarak: hi bro, is it ur first time to panel line? if it is, it is probably better if you use a pen for panel lining. examples are gundam markers, you can easily remove the excess paint with cotton buds dampen with alcohol. or the pen suggested by omni, Rotring .05 Felt Tip pen with pigmented ink, which has a longer drying time so that you can remove excess paint before it dries. to use hobby paint (tamiya acrylic) and #00 brush is a little bit harder. i had years of practice because i used to built model tank and airplanes before. your hands must be ultra stable in putting the paint in the engraved panel lines . because it is hobby paint, the excess is a little bit difficult to remove even when cleaned with alcohol and cotton buds. little mistake as possible. if you like to practice with #00 brush and hobby paint, you can practice first with old toys or model kits you no longer need. regarding the color you can use on panel lining, you can use dark or medium gray for white basepaint (like VF), and black for darker basepaints (like super/strike parts). enjoy and gudluck with the panel lines bro.

lord zarak: i remember omni saying it must be "felt tip" bro, just find one with the felt tip. if it has a ball point, i don't know if it can transfer paint to the plastic, felt tip on the other hand, is like a mini brush. but make sure you practice first on scrap model kit or plastic. much better bring the scrap plastic to the art store and try the felt tip on the spot, and see the results.

LZ, I believe those are stainless 'pin' type technical pens used mostly for drafting (I have 3). That might scratch the plastic surface on the 1/48. There are a lot of felt-tip pen brands. As long as it's using pigmented ink, and has a .05mm tip, it will work well with the 1/48 panel lines.

This is wierd. I've been trying all hour to get a descent pic of the Pen I'm using, or at least something that looks close to it from the web, but nothing. In any case, the folks at your local school supply or book store should know what this pen is. I'll try to get a pic of the pen I use later when I get back home.

lord zarak: you can also go to the art store bro, bring a scrap plastic, and try the pens in the art store which will work best in making panel lines . if you can, bring alcohol and cotton buds too. try if the ink of the pen you like can be remove by the cotton buds dampen with alcohol (in removing excess paint in the actual VF).

Will panel lines necessarily make the Valkyrie look weathered? What I'm going for is to bring out more detail, but I don't want the Valkyrie to look dirty.
