Bro, check your PM. This is the result of the Rotring .05 Felt Tip pen (pigmented ink) I used to panel. To 'spread out' the ink (weather effect), I just used some cotton swabs. Pigmented ink doesn't dry immediately. If you make a mistake, you can easily wipe it off with a damp cloth or tissue. www.collectiondx.com/node/198

i've finished panel lining my 1S: i've tried gundam markers but they don't cover well. instead i've used Tamiya acrylic paint (german grey) and #00 pointed brush. i'm satisfied with the results, it's clean and even. (tnx omni, lurkerX and 45calibre for the tips on macross VFs, i'm liking it very much btw, the stickers are still unapplied. i'll just use the 2 stickers on the side of the cockpit and keep the rest. it would be nice to score those custom macross water slide decals (they look better than stickers).

That's cool MannyD I haven't had the time and "guts" to panel line any of mine and stick the stickers so mine is pretty bare. Yours turned out quite nice. How long did it take you to panel line the whole thing? How about posting pics of your entire collection?

tnx guys lurkerX: it took me 3 nights to panel line the 1S, the fast pack only one day . i had at first trouble inserting the big boosters on the back of the 1S, the metal rods won't get through fully. but i inserted them again last night after panel lining them, and they went through cleanly (probably the first try was a break-in hehe). the super 1S looks great in gerwalk mode! and when i have the money, i'll get a 1J hikaru or a focker 1S and have it in battroid mode 45calibre: my collection is still pathetic bro , i just started collecting gokins mid last year. i still lack some of the essentials. hope someday i will complete them, then i'll be proud to post pictures of my humble collection lord zarak: their called water slide decals bro, they adhere better than stickers and are thinner than stickers, very common on military model kits like tanks and airplanes. when applied and dried, they seem to look like painted on the plastic.

Manny: I should also warn you that the hinges attaching the back pack/ tail fin end to the mecha/plane is a bit fragile I've read incidents of this happening @ macrossworld, so you should be careful in attaching and de-taching the fast pack
I personally haven't experienced this but you never know.

lord zarak: yeah at first only, but when you already had a hang with the process, their worth it (water slide decals).
simple procedure: first you cut the borders of the decal from the sheet, then you soak them in a small bowl of warm water. when you see the upper film trying to separate from the paper backing (after 1 or 2 minutes), you pick up the decal from the water using tweezers. then you slide the upper film to the desired location in the toy. the decal film is still wet this time, so you can fix the film into the right position. if it is already ok, remove excess water by slightly rubbing the area with a cotton bud. don't touch the decal for a while, it will dry totally in 1 or 2 hours.
