Can anyone out there name the FAO Schwartz special edition power zords? Just the other day I saw an ungodly black and gold edition bot that was selling for over $500!! -blek- ...but it got me thinking there may be other weird releases by FAO. I'm always interested in the "odd history" of the rangers. Thanx! Ed

The only black and gold one I know of is the original Megazord. Then Kaybee had the black Astro Megazord that you helped me identify. That's all I know of...

Is the black Gingaioh really worth over $500?! I got him a few months ago in a lot auction with 3 other chogokin Gingaman gattai for like $350. Did I just get a really good deal? Sektor88, I'll try to snap some pics asap.

Still, I'd love to see some pics of the black version to see whether it's worth pursuing one of these days.

Here ya go! robotjapan.proboards12.com/index.cgi?board=GenGallery&action=display&thread=1103686524Without question, it is highly worth adding to your collection, especially if you can get it for less than US$100. Even if you don't like the regular version, the black one is marvelous. Plenty of diecast, plenty of black, and plenty of gold. Not to mention, the sucker is HEAVY! It's the most Gucci-est toy robot that I've personally seen first hand. ;D

P.S. Is this Japanese version exactly the same as the FAO version?

Yeah, the FAO version that I saw was in the Japanese box and everything, except it had a sticker that said "FAO Schwartz exclusive" and a little blurb about "lost galaxy megazord black version," if memory serves.

The Limited Edition Gingaio is quite a frequent item to appear on Yahoo Japan. I will tell you though, the Rarest item is infact thje 18Carat Gold Limited Edition Gold version that was released in America, that thing goes for $1,000+. I picked up the Black and Gold one about four months ago for $50 and I have to say it is one of the coolest Robots I have got in my display! Saying that though I have quite a few rare Mecha Figures now! I have the Gold Plated Gaogiraffe (which belive you me, was a struggle to get hold of and I have never seen another one since!) Also I have a Limited edition SIlver Gaofalcon, Rhinos and Armadillo, Giraffe, Gorilla and Gaohunter set! All I need is the Deer, and if anyone out there has it please buzz me as I am dying to get holf of it!

A black Gaoking was also released in Japan but I'm not sure if this was the same for the US.
I remember sazerJP's collection...there are also black versions of:
1) Timerobo & Timeshadow 2) Victory Robo & Linerboy

If they had made the white parts of DRR black and done the rest up in silver or gold, I'd have been all over it, but as it is, it's one of the lamest recolors they've ever done (and I LOVE black versions).
