I know the differences between the more recent sentai releases - say.... everything from lost galaxy up. But what about the older megazords? Those came to the US as largely plastic toys - did the originals have any diecast? I am particualrly interested in knowing about the original MMPR through lost galaxy.

My collection is far from complete, but I can tell you my earliest megazords (Shogun and Pyramidas) are 100% (relatively cheap) plastic, while Space seemed to use somewhat higher quality plastic, and the Lost Galaxy and Lightspeed series finally contain a generous amount of diecast (most noticably in Galaxy Megazord and Omega Megazord). Timeforce was plastic again (and the designs were awful, in my opinion), and I haven't ventured into anything past that point yet.

Is that the Japanese versions? I am mainly interested in the amount of diecast on the earlier japanese releases.

My bad. Thought you were asking about the US versions.
I know that most of the Japanese versions contained more diecast, but I don't own any, personally.
Sorry.
