Shame no one seems to have got it, I'd really like to hear a review too... Have you seen these pics of it here: members9.tsukaeru.net/ty1_toys/toys/DX_abaren.htmI've been in two minds about it up till now, but it looks pretty cool from the pictures there.

just got mine today. it's better than it looks, IMHO. there is no metal content, it's all plastic. but at least the quality of the plastic and the finish looks really good; it certainly does not look cheap, and seems more expensive than it looks.
T-rex is big and deep red, about 14 inches long from nose to tail, and packed in a walking action pose in the box. Pterodactyl is gold-yellow, and the triceratops is a nice deep blue. there's a sheen to the colors that matches the chrome and gold trim around the main joints. the drill runs on 2 batteries, haven't tried it out yet. tail and triceratops head can be detached and reassembled to form a sword and shield.
box is slightly larger than the senpujin box. as for packaging, the toys are individually wrapped in plastic and embedded in hard cardboard similar to a fresh egg-tray. colors and triangular decor reminds me of artist Anton Gaudi, who used triangular tiles in some of his sculptures.
yes, the design is kind of borderline on the you-either-love-it-or-hate-it kind. but it kinda grew on me after seeing it several times, and now i'm hooked on the style. really like it. anyway, having huge blocks of primary colors sure lights up the chogokin shelf!

Nice mini-review Jaybats . Do you have a camera? I can host any pictures you may have. Just send some to admin@robot-japan.com
How much do you think it is worth paying for? $50 ?

sorry, i don't have a digital camera to take pictures with. not yet, anyway. i got it at just about retail price, thanks to i got 2 ;D and the brachiosaur. they're pretty cool. although the abareno is all plastic (looks like the same kind as in the Mac7 Valkyries), the motorized arm-weapons make up for it. the shoulder attachment points have little gears that can work up the gimmicks in the various arms. compared to the older sentai robot based on dinosaurs, this one's got much better sculpting; the T-rex looks just like a mecha version of the Jurassic Park T-rex. i like it, specially since i've never had dinosaur toys.

it took me several looks to appreciate this toy. The way it was painted and the brightness of its colors, it truly is a kid's toy. Seems very well made.

yeah, it's like a new kind of art; some people like it, some people hate it, and it takes some getting used to.
i think maybe it's the use of solid blocks of color which makes it appear so ghastly to some; it's so unlike the more subdued colors of the SOC line, or the either blocky or highly decorated geometric forms of older sentai robots. and it uses more silver and gold trim than any of the others i've seen. all in all it sits rather well with my hurricaneger bots.
you're certainly right about it looking like a kid's toy more than anything else; dinos and bright colors really are usually designed to appeal to the 3-5 years age range! ;D

thanks for the links! woooh, i think the new ones rock. my fearless forecast is that these robots will become very popular eventually, but since many are passing up on them, they're gonna regret not having gotten them when they had the chance. ;D
