The Japanese versions has more die cast content. I got to hold a US version of Gaoking and its mostly plastic.

Good thread!
I noticed that there are different versions of the Power Animal lines. For example if you purchase the Gao Elephant, there is (I think) a PA power animal designation. For "Asian" releases that aren't from Japan I think there is a slightly different PR designation ....
The Gao Elephant I think would be the same in both Asian releases.....other than the extra mark Futurewave is telling us about. I assume the Japanese release wouldn't have that mark. Then I think I saw a "Bandai Asia" text on the HK boxes too.
Maybe the experts can chime in here.

Here is a nutty factoid:
Sentai bots bought in korea and other parts of asia are usually the US versions, not the Japanese version. I think it was something to do with the licensing agreement. bandai america and Saban (now disney) scored the rights for locales outside japan. So that means HK etc.. are really under Bandai America and Saban / disneys control.
That would explain the english language instructions I got with my HK Gaohunter....

I'm Referring to Japanese packaging (box) not the HK packaging..and Jap. version PA have additional small toy of the animal itself (orange color), one thing all the PA release are Made in China compare to the DX boxset which is Made in Thailand.. (Jap. Version) The Gao Elephant I think would be the same in both Asian releases.....other than the extra mark Futurewave is telling us about. I assume the Japanese release wouldn't have that mark. Then I think I saw a "Bandai Asia" text on the HK boxes too.
