Hi everyone,
I guess I will use this thread to get opinions if I or anyone else paid a decent price for a sentai/power ranger purchase.
First question is this: I just won a Japanese version of the Ninja Storm Megazord, I paid $219 including shipping. Please let me know if this is a good price for it, I bought it because it has a lot of diecast compared to the US version which has none plus it looks cool. I also bought the US version Lightspeed rescue Omega megazord for $89 shipped, read the reviews and looks like they didn't rob this one of the diecast parts (thanks to Joshb for the great reviews). Inputs would be appreciated. I will be asking again as I make more purchases.
Thanks.

Hi Ronin777,
Good idea for a thread, I'm still finding my way with the whole Megazord thing and trying to work out what versions I want and what to pay.
So far I've only bought a few US/UK versions, but I've held off on some models as I want to get the Japanese or Hong Kong releases so I'm looking to see what's a good price as well.
In my (limited) experience $219 sounds about right for the Japanese version of the Ninja Storm Megazord.
I won a loose complete LS Omega Megazord for $52 shipped last week, but it's taken a lot of patience. I've been trying for about 3 months and I've been outbid at $70 - $80 (shipped) a few times. I think I just got lucky this time.
I'm also interested in the earlier Sentai robots. I have a good enough idea what the Godaikin era stuff goes for, but I not so sure once I get to Flashman, Maskman, Jetman etc.

Hi Gort,
Thanks for the input, now I feel a lot better about my purchases. I am also trying to get into the zord mode myself but I will only purchase the ones with diecast content. The reviews at collectiondx really help a lot with your decisions, you may want to drop by there to see. I too am looking at the early sentai bots myself but I want to be careful about the diecast content as well, they just have to have some or a lot of metal. I am looking at this Spielban toy which looks cool but not sure if it's worth $230 shipped. Is anyone familiar with this toy?
Thanks.

Unfortunately, I think you could have gotten it for a lot less expensive. $200 sounds right for the TRU set with all three Hurricanger bots, or maybe the Gouraisenpuujin (Thunderstorm MZ) black version set. That being said, yeah, Senpuujin's a really cool 'bot-- plenty of diecast, good heft. $90's not horrible for the Omega, but again, I managed to get mine for $65 shipped.

Thanks for the input Ayakaholic, I think I feel good about the Senpuujin and you are right about the Omega but I guess it could have been worse. I am planning to buy more diecast zords so I will be asking you guys more questions soon and I hope you guys don't mind. How about the Spielban though, any thoughts is $230 shipped is ok? By the way Ayakoholic, the Changeman I got from you is sitting pretty well with my other Godaikins. I'll try to post pics later.

Another question, I'm eyeing a Thunder ranger megazord and it's for sale for $160 shipped, is that ok too?

I'd shop around, personally. Search YJ Auctions and go through a bidding service-- rinkya, shoppingmalljapan, or contact donky35 on this board. Shipping will end up being expensive, but you can get a much better overall price. Hell, I opened up the Hurricanger leaf, and there was a Gouraijin on the first page going for Y2500 (about 23 bucks US). try this out: search4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/search/auc?p=dx&auccat=2084059722&alocale=0jp&acc=jp

yea, that's pretty expensive...I just got 9 used megazords off yahoo japan for a grand total of $280 shipped...the first half of the shipment is here and they are all in great shape.
the ones i got are: -full hurricanger set (gouraijin, sempujin, tenkujin) - normal color -hurricanger black set -hurricanger black gouraijin -hurricanger normal gouraijin -gao king -gao muscle -a whole whack of karakuri balls
I went with ground shipping, so it cut the shipping price in half. It takes a bit longer, but it's still sort of trackable and the first box was perfect...the celga guys wrap the toys really well too.

Thanks for the input that is a lot less even tho the bot I got is unopened and unused. Part of my dilema with yahoo japan is I have a hard time using Rinkya (I just signed up this past weekend). Celga's webpage is even harder to understand. Rinkya has a translator but even with that I cannot understand the auctions descriptions. Can anyone help?

with celga, you just do the search for the thing you want, make not of the url, the price you want to spend, your name and address and send em off an email. They respond within a few hours and tell you how much to deposit. You deposit half of your max bid in US dollars, and they do the rest.
As for searching yahoo japan, you can find common links to searches on a few different sites, then I just use altavaista's babblefish to translate all the pages. The descriptions are generally pretty minimal as, in Japan unlike America, you are expected to trust that the seller will list anything wrong, so if it isn't mentioned, it's not damaged. Most of the ones I got were "item has minor scar from child playing" but you really can't see anything unless you look really closely. the only part with any real paint loss was the eagle head for the normal colored sempujin, but that will be covered by the tenraisempujin head anyways.

Great, thanks for clarifying Quest. I did get my Sempujin today and I gotta tell you the thing is pretty hefty unlike it's US counterpart.

yea, the combined forms weigh a ton...once the rest of mine show up i'll take a group shot...i tend to combine em a little different than you are supposed to (some more than others) you can find links to the major dudes from here: www.sentaitoys.com/links.html then just copy and paste parts of the titles from the ones you link into the search field for more specific searches
