Here's our first clear look at Gekiranger stuff: Top: Juuken Sentai Gekiranger, the first three members. Middle: GekiTouja, made up of GekiTiger (red), GekiCheetah (yellow), and GekiJaguar (blue). Honestly, I can't say I'm all that impressed by the primary robo on its own, but maybe later forms will look a bit cooler. Bottom: The first power-up animal mech, GekiElephant, which joins with GekiTouja to form GekiElephanTouja. Armor and a ball and chain (er, trunk) weapon; between this and the little "Gattai Series 01" thing in the top left makes me think we're going to see additional animals as power-ups, a la Abaranger.

I'm not that impressed with Geki Touja myself. But I hope the gattais will be better than the Power Animals and abaranger stuff.

Uh. Yuck.
When I first heard the animals and the theme of Gekiranger I was pretty excited. GekiTouja looks really simple.
Here's hoping the secondary and power ups look better. I'm not even liking the ranger costumes at this point.

i just found this: www.gekiranger.com/"Juuken Sentai Gekiranger translated into English as Beast Fist Squadron Gekiranger is rumored to be TOEI Company Limited's 31st entry into the Super Sentai franchise. Its theme is that of Chinest martial arts and the five elements of Chinese philosophy. Because of its various themes, it is similar to both the 1987 Super Sentai series Hikari Sentai Maskman as well as the 1993 series Gosei Sentai DaiRanger. Production began on September 29, 2006 with principal photography beginning on October 6, 2006. It is slated to premiere in February 2007. GekiRanger will be the upcoming Power Rangers incarnation in 2008. What is known from press releases, the Gekiranger team will derive their powers from the planets, which are in turn related to the five elements of Chinese philosophy. Each Gekiranger will also have a martial arts style based off of the Five Animals. GekiRed will represent Mars (the "Fire Star"), and practice Dragon Kung Fu. GekiBlue will represent Mercury (the "Water Star"), and practice Snake Kung Fu. GekiYellow will represent Jupiter (the "Wood Star"), and practice Leopard Kung Fu. GekiBlack will represent Saturn (the "Earth Star"), and practiceTiger Kung Fu. GekiPink will represent Venus (the "Metal Star"), and practice Crane Kung Fu. Also known is that the characters of GekiPink and GekiYellow will be female. Current rumors also have the starting line up as GekiRed, GekiBlue and GekiYellow; with GekiBlack and GekiPink joining later. It is rumored that their martial arts styles will also influence their mecha. "

We've known about the basic concept of the show for a few weeks now. These, however, are definately the first pictures of the rangers and mecha out so far. I'm interested in seeing how GekiBlack and GekiPink's animals will be incorperated with Gekitouja. Hopefully not just as add-ons, but more so actually part of the overall design concept.

who has known for weeks??? why has nothing been posted??? why am i kept out of the loop? i come here almost dailey, and the only things posted....are me ...and that is about Operation Overdumb.
my first exposure was yesterday, and i MUST say..i am EXCITED, the outfits look GREAT, and the animal zords, MUCH better than cars. but the design is a little chunky, very Transformers, or MMPR i think...but still, i like it.

It's Thai, and lots of English mixed in. But you should be able to get enough info from pics and whatnot. Super Sentais start in Feb. of each year.

oh. i thot it started earlier in Japan. when do u think the Robo will be available, and where? i just checked HLJ and nada yet.
i just noticed...BOTH blue AND yellow are in the pic..and i assumed both are boys....right? What color will the girls be? normally the girls are Pink and Yellow, or Pink and Aqua, but if BLUE and YELLOW are men, what colors are left for the girls? just Pink?

Yellow's female.
Also, don't necessarily trust all the information on the wikipedia or that gekiranger site... with all three of the first rangers having cat themes, the bit about the different Kung Fu styles may or may not be true.

More new pics! These are from the japanhero.com forums. Here's a larger shot of GekiTouja, and a larger shot of the GekiEliphantouja power up. Looks like Gekitouja's got an electronic spinning torso gimmick. There's a "lock/unlock" switch on the back and you can spin either the torso or legs. His fists light up when the spinning action starts as well! I guess that qualifies for kung-fu action. Also notice the first glimpse at the next two power up animals! Looks like GekiBat and GekiShark. The shadowed images have me really curious about the Bat combination, the Shark combination however, looks pretty silly. Could prove better when actual photos of it are revealed. And here's a few pics of the GekiChanger (no more cell phones) and the trainer bot. Plus some GekiWeapons and the first few action figures and hero vinyl.

I quite like the upper half of GekiTouja, not so keen on the legs Hopefully there may be a different option in the upcoming power ups. Actually I disagree on the GekiBat and GekiShark shadowed images, for me the shark combination looks the more interesting (although I'll wait for the full pics) Thanks for the update

I dunno. Those legs look an awful lot like the legs from Stealth Voltron. Plus, I can see the spinning gimmick getting old very quickly. Even so, another Sentai robot to add to the collection is always a good thing.

is there anymore news on this series? any video links, like a commercial for the upcoming series. Around Christmas, there were PR Oper.Overdrive commercials pushing the series 2 months in advance. I know that it is just footage from the sentai a year AHEAD, but just wanting to stay in the loop.
