Bandai "Toy's Dream Project" Limited Edition Godzilla 1955 & Anguirus 1955 Imaginative Color Edition Mini review- These guys were waiting on my door step the other night. The figures are based on the 2nd Goji film, "Gojira no gyakushû". Most people are familiar with the film's release as "Godzilla Raids Again" or "Gigantis the Fire Monster", although it has had many titles in various releases. The film will soon see a US release on DVD, much like the recent Gojira 2 disc set, staying true to the original Japanese release of the film. I already pre-ordered mine First, I have to say that the pics do not do these any justice. This probably has to do with my poor photo skills. I tried to capture the translucence of the clear vinyl as well as possible. The paint and vinyl composition on these is certainly different from many of the past Bandai entries, with Gojira having clear vinyl with blue spray highlights and the hands and feet being done in white, giving the impression of ice and snow. If you have seen the film, this works well. The Anguirus' body is cast in brown vinyl, much like the standard figure, with the exception of having a translucent red head in place of the original. Of course the paint is radically different from the standard figure. The articulation matches the standard pieces, and they appear to have been made from the same molds with identical textures to the standard figures. I'm really happy with this set from Bandai and hope that they produce more entries in this Imaginative Color series. Hope you enjoy the pics. Here's a shot of Godzilla Memorial Box Anguirus and a side-by-side for comparison.

Thanks for the review Sketcher, great pics as well. I really like the look of the translucent Gojira, normally I can take or leave Anguirus but I'm tempted to get this just for the big guy...
