Hey, I know this is an older thread but this really is great 12" figure from what is a great movie.....very nice images too mpchi. I think this was also about the 2nd or maybe 3rd movie I watched a young Jennifer Connelly blossom in and WhooHooo, I was in LOVE!! ;D Man, was she a gorgeous, voluptuous girl when she was younger....she's gotten a little too skinny for my taste now though.

This Rocketeer movie version was a remake of the early '50s(?) Rocketeer movie classic. The classic Rocketeer's helmet was just a simple "bullet" shape with three holes for the eyes and mouth. The outfit also had a jacket, but with simple pants and shoes.
I like This version's getup right here... I can see some references to Ultraman, Jet-Jaguar, Getter, and Spectreman (in the hemlet); references to Spectreman (the helmet and leatherjacket, as well as the color scheme); references to Gigantor (the jet pack); and references to Indiana Jones (the outfit and boots)...
...This is a Badass design; I like it!
BTW, in real life, That's what happens to yer face and head after wearing the helmet for a Very long time... Everything just gets caved in, and rubbed out! ;D <LOL>

They're pretty cool if you can get a look at them...I think they maybe even be out on DVD by now. Wikipedia have a full run down on the serials and related titles if anyone is interested....the image below is thanks to Wikimedia. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/e/e0/Codyframe.jpg/180px-Codyframe.jpgI like This version's getup right here... Beautiful comic, Stevens' art is amazing (he's known for his pin-ups-yowza!) if not the most original or complex storyline. libraries.darkhorse.com/reviews/firstlooks.php?theid=44-635It did borrow heavily from the 40s serials of Commander Cody and the Rocketmen, design wise, but it's set in that time period. This toy looks amazing, I've wanted the original (and the Sylvester Stallone Judge Dredd) for so long. Time to add something to the want list...
