Zo & Doras is awesome. While Doras gets all the details, Zo wins in poseability. They are pretty similar, but you can get a bit more gesture out of Zo's neck, waist & hips. If you use Doras' long bendable tail as a back support touching the ground, then this guy won't fall no matter how you pose. ;D I do find a common flaw on regular Doras left elbow though, as both mine & my co-worker's lower left arm tends to pop off easy, as the ball joint socket is not carved deep enough like the right elbow. But other than that, this set is awesome. Good solid poseability that is a bit better than the older Kamen Riders, without getting loose flimpsy joints as long as you play/pose it with care. Overall quality better than Black & Shadowmoon or earlier sets.
BUUUT~~~! You guys will definitely be missing out if you think that the limited Red Doras is just a repaint. Just opened mine a moment ago and MAN! was it SIC at its very best!!! Doras left elbow has been retooled, and all joints feels very solid, more solid than regular Doras(which is already very good, minus the left elbow). The red metalic paint, with huge green eyes & gold trim is down right menacing. Very muscular compared to regular Doras without feeling too bulky. The only think I didn't like as much is the way the chest opens. Instead of having ball joint hinges & panels that open like doors in the regular Doras, the Red Doras has the whole chest panel pops out, with a ball & socket lock on both sides to secure it, but doesn't work as a hinge. Guess they try to keep the visual detail and keep the chest in one big piece, not like the diced up version of regular Doras that opens up. Lots of new sculpted details on Red Doras, and for some reason, the legs stand exceptionally well even without the long tail attached, even though the feet looks very similar in size to the regular version, except the sculpted details on top. Don't know if the red & the design is everybody's cup of tea, but definitely the best build quality I have seen in the SIC line. Much more solid on all joints compare to any of the other poseable ones I have in my collection. With it costing around $30 (Previews had it), its definitely a SIC you shouldn't miss. And without its long tail (using the short one), Red Doras look just like a mean, badass evil Kamen Rider in every angle. ;D Go get one NOW!

Wow Mpchi, Thanks for the thorough review. ;D so the Red one is also worthy of an acquisition too... The Riderman Set looks exquisite as well, but alot harder to find... What about teh Movie Realization Figures (Vega and Devilman) Are they SIC or Not? And the Max Factory Guiver Figures, are they SIC LIkes? many thanks from a humble apprentice that spent too much time (and $$) hehe with SOCs and only now is learning the beauty of the SICs...

Don't know that much about the Movie Realization line. But look for Takayuki Takeya & Kenji Ando as the sculptor if you want the same style, as they are the main guys that created the SIC line.
Maxfactory's Guyver line is kind of SIC like, but with more exaggerated anime proportion (small heads, long limbs), cleaner shapes & finish, and less gritty look. They are nice, but relatively pricier than the SIC line. Good to have one or two, but unless you are a big Guyver fan, you get more bang for the buck on the SIC line. V3 & Riderman is very cool too, but I also have a hard time finding it, as I passed on it back then since I have the statue version of V3. Don't know about its build quality though as it was one of the earlier batch.

Takayuki Takeya is the sculptor for the Vega Movie realization Figure. Here is the Hlj link to it: www.hlj.com/product/BAN931978I wonder why it is not simply called a S.I.C.? Maybe because the characters originates from a motion picture instead of a TV series? I wonder aldo whether Vega has any diecast metal parts too... Anyway, a tempting buy nonetheless...

What about teh Movie Realization Figures (Vega and Devilman) Are they SIC or Not? The MR Figures are heavy on details. So far I only have the Devilman MR Version, and I am happy. Posability, they're not that good. They're more of a staic figure, but the details make it a winner. Between the MaxFax and the SIC, I'd go for the SIC.

Got hooked into this because of the Alternative Zero and Ryuuga so currently sticking with the Ryuukis. I'm a pose-ability freak so I love these later releases of the SIC line. Current purchase is the Zolda and Taiga pack. Who can resists the die cast claw and the freakin' gun ;D Now waiting for FAIZ mmmmmmmm

I can say now I have a decent starter colleciton.... <insert Twilight Zone OST here> ... oh but it doesn't stop there my friend.... </Twilight Zone OST> Omni, Otaru, Thanks for the input. You're most welcome! If you can, I would recommend that you get the KM Ryuga, and Alternative Zero. These are one of the best SIC's out there. You'll be able to complete the Ryuki set first since they are still widely available. Others, particularly the classic Grasshopper KM's like Black, Shadow Moon, Dark Sun, are a little harder to find, but you should find some toy stores still carrying them. These are the ones I'm still missing, but luckily, my toy supplier has them in ample stock. Good luck, and welcome to the SIC-ness!!!

Funny thing...

I canceled my HLJ preorder on Faiz some weeks ago, thinking I really need to save some money as I still have a good load of preorder stuff I have to get. And I am not familiar with the Faiz show at all. But once I saw these pics today, I broke down and crawl my way back to HLJ...
I'm SIC man...

Does anyone have the Kikaider with Side machine? It looks frikking beautiful, like the Kikaida Vol 1 from studio works, except it's actually poseable.

Kikaider & Side Machine is a great set, but with flaws at the same time.
Connection between side car & bike is kind of loose, and Kikaider's left elbow is really bad. The ball joint got so loose that it falls off by the slightest touch. End up I super glued the darn thing. The range of Kikaider's joints are quite limited, but it didn't get really loose like my Hakaider did.
Problems aside, the sculpt & details is awesome. I always put the Vol.1 Kikaider Denji End blades on his arms. Looks SIC! And its not so bad that pieces or limbs falling apart (except the left elbow) like my Kamen Rider 1 & Cyclone did.

Definitely love SIC... Don't collect all of them, but have more than is healthy. I also like the SIC takumi damashii stuff (mini figs).
Waiting to see Diamond bring in the Taiga-Zolda fig to the US.
Now if they would go back and finish the original riders (X, Stronger, Tackle, Sky, Super-1 and ZX) instead of doing the already modern ones...

I really hope they do the Akumaizer 3 & Kyodan. They look awesome, but only appeared in the mini figure series. Since they are trade figures(getting multiples & not going to be cheap) & do overlap a lot of the regular releases' characters, I ended up passing on them. But they sure look nice. Love those 2 shows when I was a kid.
And I am sure Bandai will take their time to release the old school Riders, just to get more interests when they are actually coming out.

I have a friend who lives in Japan. They bid on the individual figures on Yahoo... It's not too bad that way. Would be cool to see those other figures that they make for the small damashii line in full size. The Akumaizer 3 guys, Granzel & Skyzel, Robocon... Even Gorangers as a group would be cool. But I want the old riders first!!!

Aren't there any SICs that have any die-cast metal torsos?(I heard BLACK RX's main body frame is one.Is this true?)
