Due to my recent forays into the world of 12" Toku toys/dolls I started putting together a list of characters available from various manufacturers (it was a quiet night, nothing on tv ). Anyway, I wondered if there was any interest in posting it here and trying to compile a definative list? I have reasonable start (far more than I expected when I started) but I know there are still some massive gaps, especially in the Medicom's. Any thoughts/interest?

I like the idea. I for one would like to see more of what is out there and hear some of the ins and outs of the articulation and quality of each toy. Those shots that changetter123 posted in the other thread were great. I had no idea of the detail on some of these guys. Awesome!

I have the medicom book, but that's one company, then we will need one for Marmit, Takara, Bullmark, Rainbow Products Model works, etc. I have seen Henshin Cyborgs that have available Kamen Rider suits.

True, I have a book that covers some of the Henshin Cyborgs and Medicoms...and your Medicom book is the second "varsion". The first one has more "dramatic" pics.

We don't really need drama if we were to construct a list , in any case, mine will have the recent additions, oh yeah, and it has tons of Kubricks, if anyone is interested in Kubricks I can check...LOL

Gort has biten the hook and time to reel you in buddy, LOL It is an overtly addictive endeavor to say the least.
Off topic, Gort, you are from the UK, right? I haven't notice the "English" way of spelling in your posts, has everyone simply adapted the American verison of spelling things like Color (colour), etc?LOL;p

I'll post what I have later today (maybe in a new thread to keep things clean?) I think I have most of the Henshin Cyborg suits covered, some Marmit no-where near all the Medicoms and one or two others. Off topic, Gort, you are from the UK, right? I haven't notice the "English" way of spelling in your posts, has everyone simply adapted the American verison of spelling things like Color (colour), etc?LOL;p I still spell colour correctly but a for things that are generally accepted as correct in two versions (...ise / ...ize for example) I often use the Amercanized version on international boards, just for ease.

It would be great to undertake a checklist, however this will be no easy evolution, it is not a chogokin list, 1/6 toys are so much more vast than most others, especially if you count the variants. OT: So Gort you would think differently on international boards as you would on a local board? LOL I thought you guys finally gave up and "accepted what you know it to be true." (Darth Vader) That we got it right on with the -ize since it is pronounced that way and the u was simply one more letter to write/type. Soon you will be saying "Aluminum" just like we do, Ga^raj and you guys will buy from stores!!! LOL

I'll post my list in a new thread, Silver and Carlo, hopefully you guys can update/add using your mystical mod' powers ;D
If someone has a better format for this I'm seriously not gonna take offence or get defensive, so please modify/suggest improvements at will. I'd just like to get a list together the best way possible. My soul motivation for this in the first place is to learn as much as I can.
There's a lot I don't know about these figures, and a lot I don't know about, but hopefully we can put together a reasonable list in time.
OT:
Lol, shear weight of numbers doesn’t make something right, we will not be assimilated ;D
Actually I consciously tend to favour the American terms and spellings on boards more to avoid unnecessary confusion for members whose first language isn’t English than for the US members. (btw, serious, if slightly odd question; do you guys actually spell it as "Aluminum"? I always wondered about that one)

OT: I did that for pronunciation purposes, however the spell checker did not mark it incorrectly, so it may be an acceptable way to spell it. I actually just looked it up, (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/aluminum) it is an acceptable spelling of the element. Much like "favor", "Color", "endeavor" is. But I learned old school, so I would still spell it as aluminium (spell checker is underlining this way to spell it by the way, LOL).
You know you should consider moving here, lol. On several occasions I have heard that the "British Accent" which I believe is more of the Pierce Brosnan or Hugh Grant rather than the Cocney accent will get you "extra" points. LOL
We have a secretary in the firm that really would be rather be working on a typewriter rather than his PC and his skills for the job is really not there which has lead those not in charge question his employment, however management finds him as a person who is adept at his particular job. Many speculate it is his accent that's driving his continuance of his employment at the firm. LOL
I will make your post a sticky. Thanks.

Thanks Silver, as you can see there's still a lot of holes to be filled in, especially the Medicoms but I'm sure you guys know a lot more about those than me.
Other obvious ommisions include the 12" Inframan and Bone Soldier (I don't know who they're by) and I'm also convinced I saw another version of Silver Kamen, possibly Marmit?? I'm kind of intersted in that on a personal level if anyone knows more.
Also, are Timehouse a company in their own right or is it a line name?
OT: LOL, my spell checker does the reverse on the aluminium/aluminum thing. "Colour" is the one I notice most on forums, can't say I've ever realised/realized "endeavour" was spelt differently before.

Inframan and Bone soldier are not Medicom. I think this was done by a Taiwanese or HK company. Sea-something...Timehouse and Medicom was partnered earlier in the game and they produced many of the RAHM figures. I don't know if there is still an affiliation betweent he two companies...Timehouse seems to have their own brand with the Timehouse Kuugas and G3 and the Another Agito stuff. Medicom is in bed with Bandai now for the BM! Project. Being Bandai and Medicom.
With the 12" stuff, yes, there are Bullmark, Marmit and Rainbow Products Model Works, etc. etc. So much I don't know as well. Your Silver Kamen is definitely Marmit. They have also made Ultraseven and others.

Pics would be cool, although I'd worry about page loading time if we try and add them for everything. Maybe thumbnails or links?
Just putting ideas out there, but maybe we can add posts to the thread for each line/manufacturer with some example pics and a review of stuff like articulation, costume durabillity/material/fit etc?
Carlo has also raised the question of grouping the list (eg. Medicom Ultraman, Medicom Kamen Rider, etc) which sounds like a sensible idea.
