I continued browsing the P-Man website last night
into the wee morning hours scouring for more stuff...
...P-Man's got tshirts and coffemugs, music cds,
and a short dvd series of all his current episodes.
The first time I saw these vids a year ago, I thought
they were cheezy...
But then I continued browsing their website, and watched
the episode of "Missiler Assaults" and I was impressed.
Some of the vids are really funny; but what I also like about
the videos (besides the special effects) is that the story
cuts right to the action:
Monster invades Earth, kid transforms
into P-Man, they duke it out, hero wins, end of story. No sittin through sideline plots and sob-story characters' life's
history and such emotional soap-opera crap seen in typical
animes and series... Just straight-to-the-action movies.
I'm hopin they have All the episodes up on YouTube...
I wanna download 'em all and make my own personal dvd
of this series.
The dvd series itself is available only in Japan through
select distributors, and not very popular like the mainstream
Tokusatsu stuff.
From the way the P-Man project has progressed, it seems
they wanna release it on Japanese tv as a series.
The guy who started this project was very smart how he's
doing it and promoting it. He started with a low budget,
and got better with each episode!
All it takes is some creativity and imagination, and you can
make your mark in Toku history.
