I recently bought a Gaiking with the box from a seller in Japan. The box is obviously the vintage Popy version. I finally had the time to look the figure over and I got worried. He does have the flip up chest so I know it is not the Mattel version. On his back it has the Popy text and "MADE IN JAPAN". The U5 missiles also do not work on his chest launchers. I truly hope this is a POPY item as this is what I paid for. The item was sold as a POPY item. I also got the original Popy catalog so everything looked good in the pics. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.  MIKE |

That sounds encouraging....I thought UNI-5 was printed on the re-issues. To me it also makes sense that uni-5 missiles don't work in it, which may be the original.
Maybe someone will have picures for you.

I collect Jumbos only.Also,only the bobot type exclusively.I don't care for the people type like Ultraman.
