Since spring break is rapidly approaching, as well as the arrival of my jumbo zaku, I was looking to undertake a project.
My intent was to scratchbuild a pair of missile pods for the legs. That in and of itself shouldn't be too terrible, since they're basically boxes strapped to the legs. What I'm having problems figuring out is how to be able to 'launch' the missiles.
Has anyone scratchbuilt a spring-loaded firing mechanism? If so, how did you go about it?

The first jumbos may offer a hint. Basically they are tubes with springs in the back. Then each missile has a peg on one edge. The peg gets turned to hold the missile, and then gets turned the oppisite way to release it. Think of a bolt on a bolt action rifle. Then you can always use air pressure.

You could also try and get a couple missile firing fists off a mattel mazinga, cut them down and build the "box" around those and mount....
