Do you love the toy?
it is overpriced for me, but daigokin is very overpriced for not a lot of enjoyment. Your mileage may vary.

If you want a Daigokin and are willing to pay $500.00+ then I would get the Great Mazinger version over the Gold Mazinger Z. There have been, like what, five, six, different colour variations on the Daigokin Maz. while I doubt Great Mazinger will follow the same route. Besides, I always prefer the normal colours over "specialty" ones and since normal colour Mazingers are in the thousands, the Great Mazinger version is still relatively cheap. Or you could just wait for the Grendizer version which will be the biggest and heaviest out of all the Daigokins, but expect to pay at or above $600.00 U.S.

thanks for the reply, im just new to this collecting, i have been wanting to collect years ago, i dont even know where to start, so i bought this gold one. now i think im regretting it, i saw this getter 1 black version, VERY NICE!!!! the one with the scarf on it, almost the same prize. but im more into colecting jumbo chogokins, like 10inches and up, and the ones with nice posture also i like, although im not much into vinyl stuff but it looks like most jumbos' are made of this. i am still trying to collect the old robots, like the ones back in the early 80's, i saw a voltes V for about 900 dollars, i might buy by friday..... and if im not satisfied with the mazingerZ gold, i might sell it back on ebay then. thanks again

Well I think that you shouldn't ask if they're good for collection, or wich one you have to buy. It's your collection and you have to collect what you like, and for the price of some pieces it's also what you are ready to pay for it depending of how much you want it and you evaluate it. So think with your collector's heart and your love for the toys. For example, I'm collecting JM but there some pieces I don't like so I'll never buy them. I need to love a toy that I like to look at, not beacause his value is high but beacause he's beautifull in the global shape or in some aspect. Never for a collection value POV. Hope I doesn't sound like an old ba$t*rd with this comment but follow your feeling.....

I agree. Collect what you like and you'll get much more satisfaction than if you're collecting for another motive (ie. profit). If you like it then get it. If you're not sure, you're probably better off with something you do like.

thanks mike.... you have a good pointthere.
just got my hero collection bots now (Great mAz, getter1 and getter dragon), now i know its not a jumbo hehehhee just about 6inches tall, but very nice and heavy.
so how many inches does it have to be before its considered as jumbo?
and any comments on resin models? they look nice
thanks again mannix

What are you collecting? Do you have any SOC's, Transformers, Vintage stuff, whatever? What exactly do you like?
The Hero collection figures are nice and if you just getting into collecting a great way to start.
As for Jumbo's, IMHO I only consider Jumbo's figures ones that are atleast 20 inches tall, made entirely out of plastic/PVC/whatever and have very limited articulation but I'm no Jumbo expert so others are much better at explaining them.
As for resin kits, true they are very nice when finished but they can be extremely hard to put together if you have no modeling experience. A much better way to go if you want the professional look is to get statues, they are painted and assembled by professionals and most are limited and are numbered.

thanks Chen.... i just started the hero collection(great mazinger, getter 1 and getter dragon). right now im looking for the mazingerZ, dunno if there are other hero collection robots, this is the one i see most common. its not that big but its nice.
i find the GX series nice and the aoshima also. if 20 inches is the minimum for a toy to be considered as a jumbo.... i might pass for a while since i see they are mostly on the 500 dollar range, might as well get those nice Aoshima mazinkaiser, but i do like to get a few 20+ inches if i see one on ebay if its going to sell for less, but not the plastic ones, vinyl looks nice but expensive. any suggestions on nice brand for a jumbo thats not plastic?
thanks
