Been working on a cardboard Camp Big Falcon on my spare time. Its almost 3 feet high. Figuring out how to brace the structures to prevent it from warping. Using illustration board (bad choice) for the main structure and ordinary calling card type board for the details. (Rising amidst the mess!!!) The problem will be the bay doors because its supposed to be hollow inside. Im thinking how can I support it to hold its integrity.

3 feet tall, nice work! lonelyboy, For more support maybe you could glue rafters, walkway ramps and diagnol ladders on each side, inside the box. Beams or levels with small control rooms might help support the walls.

Nice idea mechaboy! However, I am trying to figure out how to make it simple to build. The main structure can be disassembled but the bay doors cannot. The most difficult to build so far are the supports for the platforms. There are eight of these. Next will be the other 4 platforms and paint. Also I am thinking if I should put a "hinge" on the doors to the main structure.

Awesome! Can't wait to see how great it will turn out! It's gonna be nice to go with SOC Voltes.

here is an idea you might want to try with your cardboard camp big falcon. got this cardboard cutout paper mcdonalds store house. the instruction is printed at the back. cutouts can be pressed to detach the paper model. a few fold and tab insertion and viola! a mcdonalds paper store. optimus prime looks on as the first customer. even the inside is printed with detail. a chat with optimus prime prime makes a takeout for his human friends very cheap toy but it was fun. maybe you can make the camp big falcon as a cardboard model lonelyboy. just an idea.

dont be pressured of your art. take your time and have fun doing it.
i can understand how artists sometimes needs inspiration and time to make their creation. rome wasnt built in a day as the saying goes.

Thanks for the support guys! I must admit that I have been busy this past weeks....leaving me tired to do anything else. Working with cardboard has limitations. For one, I have to make it carry the load of the SOC vehicles without it deforming or warping. This cardboard means I can not make patterns using the printer. I sort of made a compromise by using illustration board to maintain its shape and printable cardboard for the details such as the platform and eagle head. I am almost finished coz the only thing left to do is the hangar numbers and the base itself.
By the way, this can be built out of plans and prints. ;D
