Hmmm... "spread-legged jumbo"... ...oh, ok, my chinese jumbo Mazinger? This is how he looked when I got him, his body was all BLUE, and his waist and limbs had "metallic" stickers. He's actually the Chinese jumbo machinder KO with them "squared" bodies you see posted in ebay along with Great Mazinger and Grendizer. You should see how he looks NOW, I'm almost finished customizing him (minus his head, but I'll do that later when I get the Sculpty supplies)... I'll post a thread for him soon as he's done. ;D zozo-Magengar It's looking really good... I see you finally dealt with the frigate wings. Nice! zozo-Magengar thanks dude.... yah finally! what i did is i shave off a thin layer of that wing(the one connecting to the leg), so when i turn the wing around the leg... it wont scrape the paint off. but the damage was done already and you can actually see the a scar or defect on that part(well you cant see it on that pic, i will post it on the next update, when i finish some accessories and the box). i guess its one of those things that you have to watch out when customizing parts.... specially moving parts. by the way Dude.... i saw that alimunim maz head on your site that you where talking about, it does look nice.... and i saw a jumbo that was a little bit spread legged..... how did you do that? i have a spare raydeen body that i was thinking of doing a custom jumbo doublas... but it would most likely be for next yr.

If they won't give us a black version, make your own! Love it! Great job, one suggestion, you should make the handle of the tenkuken gold as well. Looks great you now have a priceless GX-31B Nice. Oh, one last suggestion, it will be a B-itch to do but you should paint the blue parts of his face black...otherwise I think that will complete it. Once again, great job!

Once again, great job! thanks guys ^_^ i would love to color that blue part of the face, but i cant find the screw to open it, thats why i just left it like that, i will try to look maybe i just missed it. ^_^ as for the handle.. you mean the yellowish gold(like the one connecting the arms and forearms)? or the same one with the "M" sword on the body? Magengar: oh i see, i thought it was the other jumbo that you got the legs spread. when you look at the custom doublas, observe the legs... its like more wider apart than the others. i know the guy used a raydeen body for that one. i dunno about the legs.

Don't panic. Just buy or borrow another original-colored GX-31 and stand it next to your custom Black version. Otherwise, No Comparison pics Needed, Hands Down. -- if Anything, Bandai needs to take a look over Here and take Notes from you folks regarding customized SOCs... ...they'd sh*t in their pants! Seriously! zozo-Magengar side by side with the original color?

That paint job looks great Mannix. Only you would have to courage, besides myself, to disassemble this great robot and do what you did. Keep up the great work and patience is a virtue when it comes to masking and painting.

Is that your box design for your black Voltes? AWESOME! That black Raideen is lookin mighty Killer, too! Hey, a couple months ago someone here said they didn't feel good at using spraypaint, and they'd rather use a brush-- was that You? Dude, you do a great job with Spraypaint as good as you are with a brush, if not better! I'm just lookin at your pics here, and I don't see Any runs nor sags in the paint Anywhere on those projects. It's hard to tell just by lookin at pics online- but I'd still be able to spot it if i noticed anything... You did a terrific job spreading your coats evenly on those figures. Everything looks really smooth. zozo-Magengar

Very brave of you man! But I guess you have an extra voltes with you. Suggestion, paint the sword grey, black and grey matches well. Its like the black mazinger, the V on his chest is grey in color.

i only have one voltes so far, i just bought another one from one of the members here in RJ, i will do some pictures side by side with this one. i havent decided yet if i will convert it also. i would have done it like what you said, the thing is... i dont have that nice shade of grey/silver paint, krylon only has a dark grey available in my hardware store at the time. i tried this color and it came out pretty nice(even i was hoping for a more yellowish gold).
