I really didn't wanna hog web space post by starting a new thread that might not grow...
...the weather's cooling down and I now can put my figs back on display in my room (didn't want the summer heat to wreck my vinyls). Some of my figs won't stand upright in certain poses, especially my Miracle Action DX Raideen... so, I'm gonna try to build a custom display stand for him, with a black VHS cassette case! The case is big enough to store Raideen's accessories and smaller stuff. Raideen himself will be secured to the case so he can stand up with his Godarrow in a karate stance, and hopefully he won't flop and fall over. The key is to make him stand upright without the need to drill any holes underneath his jet-rocket feet... but this may be just my last resort <sigh>. I'll post pics when this lil project is completed.
(and for a while there y'all Thought ol' Maggie here was outta da game! <LOL>) ;D

That's a pretty cool idea, man. It would be cool to have all of Raideen's accessories kept in a neat and tidy storage compartment-- I have to keep my little motorcycle and the extra hands and parts in the box to avoid loosing them. Your idea sounds a lot more functional, not to mention saving a lot of space! I look forward to seeing updates. If you don't mind, I think I might try to copy your idea...

Yeah, go for it!
I worry about even moving its box around, since some of Raideen's accessories are really Really small (Akira/Bike)... they might fall out and get lost. I wanna pad the VHS cassette cases with soft foam (the dark-grey spongy acoustic foam would look nicely blended with the case) and carve contoured "ditches" to the shapes of the accessories so they fit snug and won't fall out. I can also sand the case smooth on the outside, and touch them up in semi-gloss black paint, and then place Raideen's japanese logo on the front, like the SOC display stands.
The lids on these cases snap tight, and the cases themselves are wide enought to allow for the figure to be posed upon it during display.
I bought several used VHS cases for 10 cents each at my local public library. I also wanna use one of these for my vinyl Mazingers, and for my vinyl Johnny Sokko Giant Robot booty.
...yeah, my mind's joggin with ideas... I now know how I will spend my winter hybernation! ;D

Glad to share with y'all, bros!
Make sure you use the BLACK vhs cases... they're already black, just like the SOC stands, so they're easier to customize any way you like.
