I was going to guess that it was Seattle, Washington. Anyway, close enough.

Man, I envy you! Nice view all around. And I really dig that skull/spinal canvas piece: it reminds me of a logo I used to do similar to it, but with my skull having just one eye and three pairs of ribs. That room right there has more than enough glass to turn it into a live walk-through display case for the world to see... if you were to put life-sized Mazinger statues in there, then coat your skin with a clear glossy latex body-suit and stand next to the statues, you'd fit right in as a life-size "human Gokin" display! ;D Thanks for showing; and my Shout-Outs to Vancouver! zozo-Magengar

Nice flat!! The chairs are an original design by Le Corbousier, the "official" replica is produced by Cassina, but there are lots of unofficials around...

thanks all...forgot about this thread and the chairs are the Barcelona chair by Mies van de Rohe...the "sofa" is just two of the chairs squished together. I'm starting to add in the toys now, but am trying to keep them out of the living room...prying hands and all that.

finally got the toys in...spent all frickin day trying to get em to fit right. -top left is all the aoshima and SOC getters in regular, black, and white colors (as available) -top right is all the soc super robots in regular and black -middle left is a collection of 1/48, 1/55, and 1/60 vf-1As with custom olive drab armor + a 1D and a monster thrown in for good measure -middle right is 2 of all the autobots I like -bottom left is a bunch of 1/55 valks...all supered... -bottom right is all the decepticons I like...only things missing are the plane mode MP starscream and skywarp...they wouldn't fit on the shelf :/ Still to come: hurricanger and gao ranger normal and black megazords, and 1 shelf of 1/60 valks that mirrors the 1/55 assortment.

The Valk and G1 setup is Golden! All I can suggest is adding just a slight more stair stepping of the Valks.....maybe....
Then I'm very impressed with the idea of showing both toy modes! Ed

Yea, I'd like to do something a little more creative with the valks, but I don't have any stands. Maybe get some of those flexidisplay things to put a couple in flight.

ah, they are hidden away in my office. In relation to the living room, they are on the other side of the wall that the painting is on.
I'm putting the rest of my stuff in today, so I'll try to take a few more shots of the whole room.

ok, here we go. Ima split this one up between this post, since it was more about the painting than the collection, and do another one in the collection section with better shots of each shelf. These should give you a rough idea of the layout of the place: 1) looking out the office towards the living room: 2) looking out the kitchen, through the Dig Dug Lego, towards the office: 3) looking from the front hallway towards the living room on the left, office on the right: bonus toy in the last one: transparent mirage on the end table

Hey! Nice place, nice displays... I'm just over in West Van - and I've got a black version of that sofa too. Must be a common theme! I thought it was a Mies Van der Rohe 'Barcelona' design though...

Definitely a Vancouver thing. Here's my sofa, and some robot artwork on the wall too...
