Hey everybody,
just wanted to share some custom chogokins ive been working on, all in various degrees of being done. But before i finish them up id love to get some comments and criticism from everybody.
First up is "ova" Aphrodite A, her head and everything is original, i did however look at a resin kit to get a basic idea of how she looked in 3d and i also based her paint scheme on it. Her panel lines need to obviously be cleaned up and possibly omitted (they kinda make her look to much like a model kit), and her paint scheme is somewhat flat, which all that will be fixed when i finish her up and spray her down with a clear semi gloss coat. ( a piece always seems to come togather with a clear coat no matter if its flat or gloss)
Up next is Sayaka's upgraded unit, the OVA venus Ace.
Sadly ive barely done anything to her other then give her a good priming. I got kinda clever on this one, because i made her both a good guy...
and a BAD GUY!
So yea those are my Mazinkaiser femobots. I really got a kick on their ova makeovers then i was suprised to find out thats how they looked in the original manga.
I think everybody has that one favorite villain of the day. One that for a brief moment in time they had said hero on the ropes then they got a rocket punch/getter beam/ blazing sword to the face, and they were forever lost to the pages of obscurity. Sure we try to make up as many reasons why said villain should be put a on plane higher then that of other robotic villains of the day such as the likes of Garada or Big Duo, or that robeast that had a cannon in his chest that you thought was just the "coolest" back in 1987. Well Ive got my villain of the day, and his name is "Tetsujin no. 27"
T-28's "older brother" per say in about every incarnation from the 50's manga to the new anime he's the first robot to get a face full of iron fist and then clunks away behind the curtain. as nature intended
This guy was made from a black Ox and i used the head from a giant robo bust and some picture nails to make his head, black ox had these big metal pads on his knees and ankles which had to go if I wanted him to look show accurate. Rasped those babies off and filled everything in with putty, the only thing left for me to finish are the bolts going down his chest, then im outsourcing him to a friend of mine to be airbrushed.
(and yes he will have that awesome cloak)
Now this guy actually is finished, He may not be a robot but he's certainly no stranger to getter robo fans out their.
THE INVADER(s), the horrifying parasitic shape shifting entities from the ova Shin Getter robo Armageddon. For this guy i took a marvel legends Blackheart figure and basicly built everything on him from scratch.
The only thing that made this guy a pain to sculpt is that there really isnt any kind of standard look to him/them. Since their constantly changing shape and color. so i kinda took a little from everything, and a little bit of Resident Evil flare (his various eyeballs) which i think in the show would only pop up if they were pain.
That about does it, so any kind of pointers, critisism, or ideas on what direction i should go in with some of these i would greatly apreciate.
