The die has been cast, and the winner of the next RJ Fun-Draw has been chosen!
Gents... our April-May Fun Draw topic is about GODLY SUPER ROBOT DESIGNS!
Think of yourself as Thor, or Zeus, and "what" will your Super Robot look like if you needed to fight off vast armies of evil gods and demons!
Design a Super Robot worthy of these mythological Deities, Gods, and Godesses. Give them swords, give them guns, give them tridents, or give them a fricken harp! Just make sure to make them look KICK-@ss and worthy of lowly human praise!
And here's another plus! You can also include the Deity that will be piloting your SR Design!
Now, there are hundreds if not thousands of Deities, Gods and Godesses that you can choose from! Don't limit yourself to the usual Roman/Greek Gods! Remember, we've got deities from Norse, Japanese, Indian, Philippine, Chinese mythologies and so on, so don't be lazy and work on it!
As always creativity is a big plus. You can use any medium, and it can be colored, or monotone, pencils or pen, water-color or photoshop. You can also include backgrounds, landscapes, battle/action scenes, weapons or no weapons, transforming or not, it's all up to you! You are THE Creator!
This Fun-Draw will run starting today, up until 25-May-2008. Post all of your entries in this thread, or if you have questions about the topic, we'd be happy to help you out!
You've got lots of time to think of your design and what to base it on.
So, put your GOD-COMPLEXES ON, and start CREATING!!!!

According to Philippine mythology, Bathalang Maykapal, or Bathala, was the Supreme God of the ancient Tagalogs ( Filipinos) and King of the Diwata (fairies). Bathala and the other gods and goddesses were said to have lived in a kingdom above the skies, called Kalualhatian (Heaven)Bathala (god of the sky - Langit) together with other gods Aman Sinaya (goddess of the sea) and Amihan (god of the north wind) battled it out to create the earth. Bathala's main enemy is the god Sitan, the ruler of Kasanaan (the Underworld), and his lackeys, the mangkukulam (witches and warlocks) and the mangagaway. In order to destroy all his enemies, and for him to be known as the great Creation ruler, he created his super god machine AMONG BATHALA ;D * created using MS paint *Sorry for the large image TFL

Couple of Moleskine sketches inspired by Mochica Iconography from Sipan's Mythology war of the gods. The Milky Way god ( Ni) assisted by the Moon goddess and Owl god imprisoned the Sun god ( Xllang)and unleashed creatures of darkness and animated demonic offerings upon the Mochica people and feasted on their blood until a hero ( Quismique) came and released the Sun god.(Source: "Los Dioses de Sipan II La Rebelion contra el Dios Sol, Jurgen Golte, 1994) Ongoing sketching thread www.robotninjamonsters.blogspot.com/

After Bathalang Maykapal (god of the sky) battled it out with Aman Sinaya (god of the sea), which led to the creation of kalupaan (Earth), Amihan (god of the northwind), freed the first humans ( Malakas at Maganda ) inside a bamboo plant that sprouted on the surface of the Earth after the great battle of the gods. In order to keep calm, peace & equalness among humans AND to help Among Bathala ( God machine created by Bathala) fight the legion of Sitan (ruler of kasanaan), Amihan also created his God machine HANGING AMIHAN created using MS paint

When Aman Sinaya (god of the sea) saw that the legion of Sitan (ruler of kasanaan) was becoming too strong and more evil, he too decided to create a God machine of his own to aid Among Bathala and Hanging Amihan. Born from the depths of the seven seas, a new champion emerged to complete the triad of the " MGA MANDIRIGMANG PANGINOON" (God warriors)... He's called AMANG SINAYACreated using MS paint

Here's my entry... The Philippine Goddess of War: Mangaragan. There's not much about her in terms of background, but her name is also a local dialect in the Southern parts of PI, and is also a province if I'm not mistaken. Anywhoo, I went off the norm a bit and made her Super Robot (named Sigalot or something close to Chaos/Anarchy in English) masculine instead of feminine. Medium used was water color, and pigmabrush. Hope you guys like!
