Hey, a freind of mine said he saw an ad in the Japanese NewType magazine .......for a "coming soon" Soul of Chogokin Evangelion Unit 1. What I am hoping to hear...is have anyone else heard about this? Is this a BanDai piece and really an SOC? He said for sure it did say CHOGOKIN across the ad, but he could not tell me who was making it and date of release.  |

That looks very cool! but does it mean they will be moving away from Super Robots to other mecha genres? Sniff, Voltes V and Daimos may never see the light  |

Well, drop yer linen and start yer grinnin'....there she is. Looks pretty good. The one thing about the Eva mechs are that they won't have any launching fists or transforming parts (things that make the Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Combattler, and Grendizer SO cool!). Oh well, should be pretty neat. Mechapuck, I agree....I would love to see them do a Voltes V, Diamos, Dangard Ace, GoShogun, Groizer X, GodMarz, Daltanias, Daitarn 3, and Zanbot 3. I must say.....I am quite happy to see a great Dancougar though....oh well, take what we can get.  |

Hmmm, I wonder if Bandai has PR staff that would be willing to do an interview. -scheming- I imagine they go to the profit. Period. So eva-01 represents a relatively new franchize that can be $exploited$. -e- |

Sniff, Voltes V and Daimos may never see the light awwww man! I was looking forward to a Voltes V, Danguard Ace, Daimos, and Jeeg SOC! I really wanted to see their take on the Tranzer! Damn you Bandai! Stick to the Super Robots! That's what the essence of the word "Chogokin" is!!! ;D |

As much as the Chogokin line stood for Super Robots for me... I think Edward28 is right, it seems our beloved super toy company Bandai is really after lucre. But I hope we Super Robot fans can send message to Bandai not to abandon what it started. EVAs are truly nice but they hardly carry the banner of Chogokin.
