From the one you showed, what you purchased might be the wider release of the gold Mazinger. The lower one shows the limited edition mazinger that was sold at the Japan Chogokin Expo 2004 if I am not mistaken.
Hope that helps ;D

otaru
i actually scored the box without the picture on it (expo limited edition - i hear that only 300 were made of this limited edition)
i was just worried because i saw all the wider release versions of the gold mazinger with the picture of mazinger on the box. the limited edition did not show mazinger picture on the box.
i just wanted to make sure what the differences in the boxes were for my own piece of mind.
now all i need to do is find a website of plexiglass display cases i can house my new gold mazinger in.

i know....i just stumbled on it from a us importer. its still fresh and unopened from the packaging. i had a huge plastic mazinger when i was little in the late 70's. it had the missles that shot out of the fingertips and brackets to hold spare missles on the legs and shoulders. that's probably going to be my next grab. those actually cost a little more. around 200 to 250 range. they really get you for nostalga these days (or however its spelled)

Ahh yes, the Jumbo Machinder by Popy . Have fun searching one out, it's a great toy and Uni-five has an excellent reproduction. Welcome to the BBS Jamie

cool finds ed! is there a way to tell from the picture cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3137436870&category=30if this is not a knock off. the only reason i ask is because i'm leary of products from "hong kong" dealers let me know what you think. you guys know more when it comes to detail inspections of goods from pics.
