Hope I'm posting to the right place here. I just recieved the Unifive (soul of) Chogokin 'God Phoenix' diecast ship that I ordered from Diamond distributors a while back. Very nice, but it's a different color than on the 'Battle of the Planets' show; more of a teal green, than blue. I've 'flown' several missions with it, and think it has great sculpt & features. For the $100 price... I expected that the quality control on the finish would be better. There are several small dents in the hull which look like they were done before painting; and more than a few dust fibres painted into the surface. Otherwise, a lot of fun, and a cool display stand. I see by the gallery pics that some of you fellas have original ones. Anybody else buy one of these reissues? What did you think of yours?

I didn't buy one, but heard that the first issues had similar problems. The nose cones would sometimes come off too

bought the 1st release the cone does fall off
i put reflectorized stickers inside the edge of the cone that solves the problem
the sticker can be easily remove w/o damaging the cone itself

Yes, mine does the same thing (nose cone easily falls off). Still, a good looking rendition of the ship, with features/functions from the show that are well engineered.

waruderos, i think your assessment is correct. i also have the same one you got and it also has a couple of those very small barely noticeable "dents" and there are a couple of over sprays that can be overlooked... all in all, its not a bad piece, but a bit pricey IMO... the nose cone on mine also comes off pretty easily...

Pricey yes, but we still had to have it Aside from the small defects (I think those tiny dents are from rough handing prior to the paint job) it looks outstanding on display. Looking at all the springs and gadgets they stuff inside, it must have been a pain to assemble. Ward
