I've got both Combattler, and VoltesV in the old yellow-joint versions, and while I don't really look at them as investments, it is nice to know that the toys could fetch a good price on auction if they had to be sold. But what if they went ahead and made a new SOC Voltes V? Would a new issue devalue the vintage piece? Did the GX versions of Gaiking and Combattler cause the vintage versions to drop in price? JWM

I think the price won't go down even if bandai releases an SOC Voltes V. Because the vintage voltes v dx is unique in design especially when volt together, and if there would be an SOC Voltes V, I bet it would'nt be that big as the Vintage one. I also own the Yellow elbow Voltes V Volt in Box Japanese version in MIB condition with first version stickers. It's 26 years old now and I think when I come to my early 50's it would get very expensive..... he he he ;D

;D I agree with you Rex-203, One more thing, we must not rely on ebay on the prices of our toys.

;D I agree with you Rex-203, One more thing, we must not rely on ebay on the prices of our toys. Good point. ebay is just the most convenient way of getting a spot check on current prices. I wonder about the new combiners devaluing the old because most of the SOC issues are huge improvements over their original Popy GA counterparts. I'd rather have the new Mazinger, or Getter Dragon than the old Popy GA's (I have both) I have seen pictures of the old Dancouga, and it's awful. I'd way rather have the new one. But I haven't seen the new Combattler or Daikumaryu in person. To me, they don't look as cool as the originals, even though I guess their style is more anime accurate. I wonder if their appearance on the market affected the price of the old ones. JWM
