The Varidorin by Unifive needs two very small types of batteries. Problem is I don't know exactly what type, they are definitely smaller than AAA types. are there AAAA (that is 4 As) type of batteries or whatever type that should fit in the Varidorin? Thank you for any help

i got mine at radioshack...they are size "N 1.5V" Thanks a lot Jalien. I live in the Philippines, I hope to find that size locally. Is the "N 1.5V" by any chance used for cameras, too?

i think that they are used in cameras,so maybe try a camera specialty shop.they were only about 2.00usd at radioshack so hopefully they are not alot more at a camera shop.
if you dont have any luck, keep in touch maybe i can get you couple packs and send them, for actual price and shipping.....

Here's a tip for batteries in the varidorin...put a piece of aluminum foil in between the contacts...I couldn't get mine to work without the foil...and apparently I'm not the only one who had this problem.

Thanks for the tip, John. The spinning blades on mine worked without putting foil for contact. BUT.... the extending wings feature does not Is that feature still battery operated or mechanical? No matter how hard I press the YELLOW button, the wings would not retract. That really dissappoints me. Other than that, the toy is a charm. I hope for tips on how to make the retracting/extending feature of the wings work. Thank you so much!

See, I thought the wings retracted too, but apparently, they don't...you have to put them back manually, and then hit the button to make them pop out. I think it's a mechanical feature, much like it was on the old toy. In the new version, the motion is a bit more fluid, and a little less switchblade like.
Does anyone else have a varidorin where the wings extend and retract automatically when you press the button?

I did try to press them back, should you hear some "click" to indicate they are pressed back just far enough and release them without them spreading again?

Yeah, there'll be a click. I recommend using one hand per wing, and move them back slowly so as not to mess up the mechanism.

I can now confirm that the only electronic feature is the spinning blades behind its tail wings and beneath its claws. The wings need to be retracted manually, push them back until a slight clicking sound is heard, that will lock them in place. Push the yellow button and they spread nicely. Old school toy with a new twist! How can any fan not love it? ;-)

Glad you like it. I love this toy.
My only complaints are that the guns that attach below the Varidorin fall off easily, and the little goranger machines dont like to stand up.
Otherwise, its perfect!

Otherwise, its perfect! Yup the guns easily fall off. It is only the Red Ranger that wishes not to stand. but I manage to get it up, tho it leans a bit either on the right or left. YOur Review made all the difference Josh! I love this toy!
