Has anyone purchased either of these ultraman items, and if so can you please comment on the quality and whether it is as collectible as the other chogokin in the series.

I bought the pair. I'd agree with the comments floating around on other forums - they're a bit of a disappointment really.
There's weight in them from die-cast, but it's not as much as I'd hoped for. The worst problem by far though is some of the joints are too loose for the weight - particularly the ankles. Best bet seems to be to get them in carefully balanced poses you're happy with and leave well alone. Not really what I'd been hoping for when I ordered them.
Whether you get them should depend on how much of an Ultraman ot GD completist you are. I'd probably pass on them given the choice now.

thanks for the input. I was going to bid on them both on E-bay but due to your advice I cancelled them both.

I think that with these, the problem is your referential.
They just can´t be compared to a SOC. Period. Does not even come close. A $35 dollars Mazinger Lady is infinitely superior to these guys.
HOWEVER, that being said, IF you collect, say, Marvel Legends (as I do), THEN your Ultraboys are great in comparison to them.
Sure both (Legends and Ultras ) have creaky joints, but the ultras are heavier, which is goood and also do not break apart when you try to articulate them (as some mavel legends)
lastly, it is great to see/pose your Ultraseven kicking your Hulk's, THing's , Thor's @$$.
A diorama of Ultraman and the silver Surfer is awesome.
Think about this...

Thank you JWM!
Yes, indeed my nick is reference to my favorite character in the WOT Series.
Besides a Toy (especially japanese) colector, I also enjoy reading fantasy books. ;D
