Howdy folks, I'm on the fence on Genesic Gao Gai Gar and have an opportunity to still order the Green one from my local comics store. What are your thoughts? For the price, at $199.99 USD, I think I could probably get 2 regular SOCs and get change back. For those who own or are going to get GGGGG, what are your thoughts? Is he really worth it? The poseability, the wow factor, the accessories, etc... Is this going to win toy of the year? Do you keep looking at it or does it just sit there in the middle of the crowd? I know we have an expensive hobby, but there's a lot of other chogokins I don't own yet that I could buy... Thoughts please!

My GGGG came today after a week of waiting and I am a little disappointed. For the same price i think i like Soc Zanbot 3 better. GGGG is very poseability and looks pretty good on display but the play factor and wow factor isn't there. i just can't stand a combiner thats can not combine. I think Soc GX 13, GX 23 and GX 03 is is a better buy for $150+ $25 shipping. i really don't know if i am going to keep him or not. i will give it 2 weeks. hope i don't have to list it on ebay.

I love mine, but I can understand you being hesitant about spending $200.00 on one figure. I only got mine after I bought the figures I really wanted (ie. Mazinkaiser, Shin Getter 1). If there are figures you really want I would get those first. As for value, SOC's usually keep their value or go up in price, the Maxfactory GGGG (normal version) has actually dropped in price from it's initial release. The green one your looking at is suppose to be limited, but how many that's produced is unknown so $199.99 could be a great price or it could be greatly inflated.

Thanks for your input, Wilson & Chen, I'll put off getting GGGGG for now, if we are destined to meet, I will buy him then! Take care!

I've put off buying GGGG until I finish my SOC collection. There are so many better SOC releases, IMO. If he's available for a decent price when I finally snag the last SOC I need, I'll no doubt invest in him. He's an exceptional piece of craftsmanship.

Yeah, the whole nostalgia factor is what's hooked me back in, so the SOC's do a lot. For the money, there are other robots out there for me to consider buying instead, especially considering I'm a newbie at this (started collecting since April). But, I'm sure GGGG will be in my collection one day! But probably not for $199.

Yeah, Genesic is really only a must-buy for fans of the series. If you aren't as big aGaogaigar fan as you are, say, a Mazinger Z fan, you probably won't the same kick out of the toy as you would an SOC or Daigokin Mazinger.

I don't really agree. I'm not a fan of Mazinger or GGG. That is, I am not a fan of any series or anime. That said, I really do love the toys (which explains my insane collection) Anyway, I really think this GGG is a must buy. I think the quality is great and that it displays very well. It definitely looks better on my display case than Zambot (I know, I gotta stop picking on poor Zam.) Anyway, if you like SoC type robots and you have the money, don't hesitate to buy it. I *really* doubt you'll be disappointed. Bill

I like what I see so far from CM... I'll only get the MF version later if the prices go down below $120 and if my hunger for zinc isn't fulfiiled by CM.
