Can anyone fill me in on the differences (apart from size) between the DX and St version of this toy (the godaikin ones anyway)? I've jsut one what I thought was a DX but turns out to be a ST and I'm thinking that it was mis-represented in the description.....

I only own the ST version (2 actually, which I am thinking of selling soon), but I know that the DX version also converts into a gun. The ST version does not. That's a good start.

indeed it is a good start. The seller explicitly says it converts into THREE forms including a gun. The toy is mint dead stock apparently but only comes with the styrofoam tray, no outer box (which is surprising for "mint dead stock"). Think I'll have to have a chat with this guy.......

How big is the toy? The DX is about 11", and the ST is only 5 or 6".
Vavilos in styro.. I think I know the seller you are talking about. He had DX's, from what I recall.

The toy is definitely a ST as he does state it's height at about 5 or 6 inches, but not knowing what the DX is like (or indeed that there were a DX and ST version), that meant nothing to me. What has me annoyed is that he claims it does everything that the DX version does therefor leading me to believe it was indeed the DX.

I stand corrected... this seller has an ST vavilos up right now, and the auction claims it transforms into a gun.
I hope you didn't pay a lot for yours?

You won this at 14.99?
You won't find a DX at that price, guaranteed. Maybe around $50 or so for one without box.
Tell you the truth, I like the ST better. It has a good amount of diecast, the DX is almost all plastic.

Yeah, I thought I was on to a good thing too (but as I said, I wasn't aware that a ST version existed) , but I had just lost another auction for a boxed (if slightly discoured) DX one from France that had only gone up to 30 Euro (about £20 or $37). I was away from the net when the auction ended and got outbid. So I didn't think too much of the cheapness of this one. If it was properly boxed I wouldn't be too disapointed with this, but if you add the P&P costs to the UK it becomes a bit expensive for something I don't really want....

Actually, I've seen the DXs go for around $20 many times on ebay, though none were near mint. I scored one with all missiles, and probably a C7 for $26 (shipping included) about two years ago, but I didn't like it enough to keep it. I resold it for roughly the same amount. I don't think there's much demand for the guy. His robot mode is pretty laughable, as is his transformation. I just really liked the ship mode.

I have a loose st vavilos I wanna part with, and a dx all unbiulto for parts, but it still have extremely good parts such as arms, wings, not so yellowed legs and so on... Does anyone has a couple of big missiles that fit into the gun mode holes? PLEEEAAAASEEEEE!

the DX version has a flimsy feel to it.. the diecast is only the 2 feet.. when your holding the toy, you feel you can crush it with your bare hands ;D
i've scored 2 DX versions for around $40-$50 each, unplayed in box with slight discoloration on the feet.
