There is only one variation I can confirm. The Japanese release has yellow eyes, but no blue paint masking around them. It is a yellow plastic piece behind the eye openings.
Then later releases in America (and maybe Japan too) have some blue paint applied around the exact eye outline. The paint revision makes for perfect eyes with a blue "eyeliner".

I own a T-28 and it has the yellow lining behing the eye opening that admin1 wrote about, so it's probably the Japanese version. Thanks to admin1 for mentioning that fact. My version is also 2 toned and looks exactly like the one in dragonclaw's photo, and I'm glad to see some discussion about it because I've wondered about this issue. It really looks much different than what you see on the cover of the box or the cover of the guide that comes with the item. All plastic on the item is a very dark shade of blue, besides the rings around the shoulder joints which are black. All die-cast metal parts are painted in a lighter blue, but still not as light as what you see on the cover of the box or brochure. I only own the robot, and not the box or the brochure. This two-tone color certainly isn't a camera effect. It either comes from aging or from the fact that they created a different version. I do know that on the back of the brochure that comes with Tetsujin(I have a copy of the brochure), it states: "Product and color may vary from the picture shown."
