Hey guys, New here and I need to ask a question about a toy that was a big (Literally) part of my childhood. I had a a 24 inch Gaiking Shogun as a kid. I was wondering what the differences were with the Vintage and the reissues I've heard musings about, what the prices are on them comparatively and where I might find them. I've seen vintage ones on ebay of course but no reissues. Thanks in advance, any help is greatly appreciated. I'd like to thank John H for sending me this way, especially if I get pointed in the right direction! Ok, I'm can't seem to insert the image I have. Excuse my ifnotance, but I have a link to a pic, how do I get it to just to pop up so you guys dont have to click the link, well here it is anyway, me and Gaiking! www.figment.org/torch/images/bios/doc2.jpg

I hadn't noticed the reissue drying up...but I went looking for a better pic and wow, I didn't see one. The reissue is almost totally different (And better IMHO) I got my reissue for $99 when it first came out.

Thats a great pic! Maybe the Reissue is of the japanese version? Mine was by Matell 1976. Thanks for the info. Hope I can score a vintage one at some point.

The reissue is of the original Popy version.Much nicer IMO than the mattel atrocity. They are both fairly easy to come by on the web.Unifive also reissued a Mazinga, Great Mazinga, and Garada K7 in 3 color variations. ;D

LOL. I agree, it looks much better. BUT, I'd like the one I had as a kid, just because of the nostalgia, has a 70's feel to it, I shot that fist at everything. I like the Shogun, but I can do without the masking tape haircut I had, although I don't think I have enough hair now for a bowl cut now.
