Didnt have any of these until today. But I have to say these are really nice mini sculps of the old school chogokins! I just received the GT-03 Getter, GT-06 Raideen and GT-08 Combattler. These guys are awesome. Now I have to have them all!

It's The Chogokin's version of Popy's Black Raideen: GT-06B. You can find them on ebay every once in a while. Just don't get confused with the smaller, all-plastic gashapon Black Raideen.

Hey JB, what should one expect to pay for that black version? I have not been able to find one yet. Those pics definately planted a bug in me. That is a nice mini rendition of the super rare black GA series Raideen!

Sounds like you're describing the gashapon version. The Chogokin's version is about 4 1/4" and has about as much diecast to plastic ratio as the original. I think I paid close to $35 + freight when it first came out. It was a limited release. I just searched ebay and couldn't find any.

Those are them but JB was talking about the black version which is harder to get and a little higher in price. Nonetheless, these are great figures with a good feel to them for their small size. I plan to gather the rest after I finish paying for some of the SOCs I have coming.

Gashapon are generally small plastic toys that would fit inside of Gumball Style container although that has changed alot since they first came around. The name comes from the sound that the dispenser machines make. The figures in this thread are diecast metal toys that are packaged in boxes and stand around 4 1/2" tall. They are smaller reproductions of the old diecast toys we had as kids in the 70s. The attention to detail on these is incredible and they are very articulated (moving arms, moving legs and knee joints, shooting fists, etc). I think they are well worth the general price they come at (usually around 25 after shipping). This statement is also subject to your own feeling of nostalgia and memories you may have about these toys. I grew up playing with the old diecast chogokin and these really remind me of those. Plus they won't cost you an arm and a leg to have. Although I spend money on those toys as well...
