The chest looks repainted. Do you think it came like that (factory defect)?

And the face looks UGLY! And to requote TOYBOXDX BBS,"Man, the face looks like he just walked in on his parents having sex. "by Miguel.

I think that funky chest look is only because of the pixelation and image resolution, not because of a paint defect.

The chest paint on my toy has that "brushed by hand" look too. It's quite an old primitive toy folks Ed

I think mcfitch is right. Compare with these pictures of the same toy. The expression on this one does seem a little sour, though. JWM

Still wishing Bandai will give that fool thing the SOC treatment.... whatever the issue between Leiji Matsumoto is and that other 'dude'....

I'm out of the loop on it, but what is the issue between "Matsumoto & the other dude" that would stop Bandai from doing a SOC version? There was the Fierce Legend version and a small PVC not too long ago so I really hoped it would get the SOC treatment (and SOON!)

There was the Fierce Legend version and a small PVC not too long ago so I really hoped it would get the SOC treatment (and SOON!) Not very specific, sorry, but last I read it was a design dispute. Something about Leiji getting the credit, when all he (LM) designed was the characters, and not the Danguard Ace itself. The 'other dude' designed Danguard. Anyone with a more accurate information, please help me out. ;D But AFAIK, that's the long and short of it.

Leiji Mastumoto came up with the Danguard story but Dan Kobayashi came up with the Danguard design. But the real problem is they were asked to create Danguard to sell toys, if you watched the Danguard series you can tell that a lot of the weapons are very derivative of other Super Robots, especially Go Nagai's. The creators weren't to happy with the result since it was just to sell toys and have renounced or completely abandoned their creation. I have no idea who owns the rights now or if Bandai has to get permission from them to make a toy. But since there have been a couple action figures and some models I'm guessing that a SOC could be made, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Hmm well its interesting... I would think if Bandai's intent was to creat toys.. I would think they would buy all rights to it.. to prevent any troubles to produce more toys later down the road. I mean their whole scheme is to make as much money as possible... so buying all rights to the IP (intelectual property) would be a no brainer for Bandai or whoever produced it. Hey I wonder if Danguard ace.. the credits.. does it say who its owned by?
