Today I got this figure! It's great! I can only imagine what the GX-01R must be!!!!!! I love this little guy. Now I'm completely sure I'll get the GX-01R! Who else has this little guy??

I have it too. It's a cool little GOKIN. The breast missiles for this one shoot pretty far,as well as the fists. The plastic shoulders create a perfect balance between plastic and metal contents, and helps prevent the possibility of paint scratching. However on mine, the hover pilder will become loose overtime when attaching it to the back.I also have the GT-00. It's basically the same thing as the GT-01,expect without a hover pilder and it's based on the very first GOKIN toy.So far I checked out the fists, and they launch the same distance as GT-01,but I haven't checked out its missiles(which are still on the trees.)

And between GT-00 and GT-01,I like GT-00 just because it gives you this vibe that you're owning an exact modernized, fixed version of the First gokin toy.

CHOGO, the GT-00 comes with a hover pilder. What it lacks is a jet scrander.

All the GT series are gems. I need the00, the VoltesV and the black Raideen. I wish I would have bought the Voltes while I had the chance. Now those things are just plain GONE! JWM

The figure is great, but there is little area that now is "paint-less". The figure hasn't fallen or anything (to my knowledge), but there's a tiny spot that now doesn't have paint, after only one day! Is this common? how durable are these figures?

From my experience, THE CHOGOKIN are likely to become damaged from high shelf dives. In any case, make sure you have some carpet or padding near your display case.
My GT-10 Voltes V took a shelf dive last December. The right yellow aerlion on the head piece and the slender stick that attaches to the body split. I glued them back, but felt that the head piece wasn't perfect. If you're a Voltes fan, then you want your Voltes toys to be perfect. I tried looking for a replacement, but couldn't find any more GT-10 in Taipei. Fortunately, I was able to purchase another GT-10 at a Toys "R" Us during my trip to Okinawa.
The gripe I have about this toy is obviously its head. The head piece doesn't stay put on head and body. It's prone to accidental launches. Besides, in the anime series, Voltes V never had this function. Only the 1977 Popy GA 80 Voltes V and the Bandai GT-10 reissue have this function. ( In my opinion, the GA 80 was an affordable substitute for the Popy DX Voltes V. The DX Voltes V was expensive at the time and still is. ) Anyway, the GT-10 without the headpiece looks like a featherless chicken head . It kind of reminds me of my Popy DX Danguard Ace without its headpiece.
As for the GT-00 Mazinger Z. It was originally released for the 2004 Chogokin Expo. Of the supposedly limited items available at the Chogokin Expo, GX-13R ( Dancouga Real Color Version ), GT-09R Black Reideen the Brave, and GT-00 Mazinger Z were sold only to ticket holders to the Chogokin Expo. I bought the GT-00 ( Chogokin Expo Edition ) in Hong Kong for HK$ 200 [ about US$ 26 ]. A few months later, the GT-00 and GT-09R was made generally available. There's no difference with the product except for the price and the lack of the "2004 Chogokin Expo Edition" sticker.

I have a problem with my Voltes, also. The head ship does not sit tightly on the head (it is raised a bit).
I just got my GT-00 yesterday, and I noticed how the color of the fists is totally different from the rest of the figure. Is this the same with everyone elses (is this how it is supposed to be)? Also, is this the case with the larger scale vintage figure?

i have both gt-00 and gt-10, they are the best from this mini gokin line in my opinion. I did have a problem with the ship staying on the head, but just pushing it down a bit harder should help. I sure hope the line continues as I want a daimos and a daltanias. with those, ive somehow recovered my favorite toys i lost in my youth.

I like THE CHOGOKIN series. I've all of them so far. Yeah, that'll be neat if they come out with more. "Gotta Catch 'Em All!" BTW, there's a Chinese Chogokin website that has a clip of the 70's Japanese commercial for the original Popy Chogokin Mazinger Z. It's what started it all. myweb.hinet.net/home3/dxtoy/images/dxtoy/html/dx01.htmYou can also get the clip on the DVD that comes with the Chogokin Chronicle, albeit it's quite expensive at 7,800 yen.

I suggest that while you may get your hands on a GX-01R, go for it. You will never be disappointed with the piece.

Doesn't anyone think the plastic shoulders for gt-00 and gt-01 help reduce the risk of paint scratching/chipping or any other problems?
