Hello, I'm new to this forum and hobby.
I have several Godaikin toy robots which received about 20 years ago. I'm looking for information on them.
I have several of the larger robots, about the size of the Combatra type. One of them is Daimos (sp?) which turns into a truck, also I have Sun King. The larger robots have Bandai America on them and Godaikin.
Could anyone provide information on the company or background of these robots?
I also have several smaller matchbox size transformer robots however they are in Japanese packaging.
Just about all of the robots are in very good condition in that I have all the original packaging in good shape, missiles, instructions, etc.
Thank you for your help.
-Jim

Hey Jim, welcome to Robot-Japan. Here's the short version. Bandai of Japan is the parent company. In the mid- late 1970's they marketed the Popy series of diecast toys, the now famous "chogokin" or super-alloy figures. Mattel marketed some of the Popy toys under the "Shogun Warriors" label. Godaikin, packaged for the American market, came along in the early '80s. Godaikins are basically the same line of toys with some minor differences here and there. You can find some pictures here. Thank you for welcoming me to the forum.
Is there any price guide which is published? Ebay shows a wide variety of prices that didn't appear to be dependant on condition.
Thank you.

This has come up before. There is no price guide for these things published anywhere that I have heard of. The best you can do is to keep track of e-bay auctions on a given figure. Some of the members here do quite a bit of toy trading, and they can offer pretty reliable advice. There are a few "Holy Grail" toys that regularly fetch prices in the thousands, but most of the stuff in the Godaikin line goes in the low to mid hundreds. JWM
