Hey guys, just picked up a Nesser and a Skyler last week. Both of them are in pretty good shape except the tails are broken. Seems the plastic is very brittle. Is this common, and what material should I use to construct the new replacement tails? I plan to use the old tails as a template for my replacements. Any help on this one is much appreciated!

thses broken tails are very common. I usually just superglue the tips back on, if you have them.

I tried the super glue route, but the inner anchor inside the toy is also broken. The glue-job is not strong enough to repair and then re-assemble the toy without the joint coming apart. Thus the need to contruct the new tails. What kind of material is best for this type of sculpting? I thought about clay but I think I will have the same problem with brittleness. Is there a material that works like clay but sets like plastic?

Take the body apart and use Plasti-Zap. It's not a glue, but rather a catalyst that chemically melts and bonds plastics together. Think of it as welding for plastics. After that simply re-assemble the body. Be careful to sand/clean off all the old glue you tried using first.

Thanks for the tips! Pardon the pun On another note, I asked someone in the Modelshop at my work, they recommended a product called Magic Sculp. They use this all the time. Check it out here - www.magicsculp.com/Edit: For bad spelling.
