Hi, some guy is selling me an original japanese Dairugger XV mint in box, 100% complete and in a nearly perfect condition, so I'd like to know how much its worth? He's asking about 250$ with shipping included, I think that maybe it's too much, what do you think?? Here's the pics from the figure:

That's definitely a fair price. I paid around $300 for mine over a year ago.

Why don't you try the matchbox version its practically the same toy made by the same company re-marketed by matchbox for North America except it comes in a different box and without the sword for about $150 less

Actualy MIB Matchbox Vehicle Voltrons have shot up in price, the last one I saw on Ebay went for over $160.00+. Besides if you plan on keeping it MIB, the original Japanese releases will always have a higher value than North American ones (look at an original Golion).
Also the Japanese version came with a decal sheet and little chrome accessories (plus the sword) that the Matchbox version doesn't have.

$180US???...........damn, I bought mine off ebay about 2 years ago for $100.00...that just sucks for people who are planning on getting this...well still cheaper than $250 ....not by much though ....
so it all boils down to whether the decal sheet, chrome accessories, sword and future "appreciation" potential is worth an additional $70US to you.

It's the whole "Made in Japan" syndrome, people still believe that the Japanese version of the same toy is "better" even though there basically the same toy minus a few odds and ends. Just look at the premium people will pay for a stickered SOC, same damn toy as everywhere else but just because it was shipped to Japan and had a sticker put on it it must somehow be better . But that's a whole other ball of wax.

This is one of the few vintage pieces that I would really love to add to my collection. As soon as they stop coming out with new stuff that I can't live without...

I've noticed a big $$$$ spike on eBay for a number of vintage japanese diecasts... golion, dairugger, t-28, godmarz... pretty much any godaikin or affiliate for the most part. Just since Sept, Oct, it seems things that used to go for $100-150 are now in the $250-300 range.
Not just the japanese releases either... US boxes too. And it seems on the MIB stuff, complete or not. Loose stuff has stayed the same, for the most part...
increased interest, scalpers, who knows...

well the godaikin price is still the same, just the daltanious price went upin the last year. But if you consider the big shooter for exemple or a lot of clover toys as the core fighter, you can see that they really flys as prices:O

I wish Bandai would re-issue all the old Godaikins in vintage style packaging. It would allow people to get an old school Voltes or Dairugger without paying a huge sum.
They could stamp a current date and re-issue mark so it wouldn't effect the old versions value.

either way it would affect the value of the original issue.....I think there's very few "Hard Core" people who'd still pay 3x for the old when they can get the re-issue made by the same company with the same quality in a more prestine version for less. just look at what happened to the takatoku valks and G1 Transformers
I personally don't really crave godaikins as much, what I'd wish they'd to is enlarge there SOC issues ei 12" Voltes V, T28 etc. It'd probably cost 2x as much but I can see myself going for that. Imagine that a godaikin sized modernized sculpted Voltes V or Grendizer .......

Just look at the premium people will pay for a stickered SOC, same damn toy as everywhere else but just because it was shipped to Japan and had a sticker put on it it must somehow be better . But that's a whole other ball of wax. It's true, there is something special about the original vintage Japanese versions, even if the toy itself is 95% identical to the US version. There is this sense of it being "the real deal"... original and completely unadulterated, and manufactured the way the toy was meant to be. Now if only I could get an original GoLion and Albegas. The SOC sticker thing really is, as Chen put it, another ball of wax. As far as I know, the toy and the box really are the exact same, both in contents and quality. So it doesn't seem worth it if that little sticker really adds value. *shrugs*

I don't want to get totally off track but REX is right, nothing has value unless someone puts a value on it. For instance a Monet painting is just oil paints and canvas but if enough people "believe" it's worth such and such then sooner or later it's value is rises to a million plus when infact it's basic material value is a buck fifty. Now this doesn't take into account artistic talent or breakthrough design, but my basic point is perception dictates value.
